Yeah I knew AF might put up that kind of fight. They just have a very very difficult offense to prepare for. They run over 40 different formations and one else has that kind of offense. But really Texas D looked great vs Tech. But that offense still needs work. Could be a very defensive game this year.

What do you mean by "not true"?You think there is a chance this was a false report? Come on now. I don't see Chael being a bud smoker so you can forget the Nick Diaz style failed test. If he test positive like Karo for pain killers that is just as bad as roids.

The steroid allegation that some have dropped on it already... I hope that's not true. If it's something that was in a cough medicine, he can continue talking shit and taking fights after he gets any suspension reduced or dropped. If he's been busted for taking bull roids... His rep is trashed for a long time. Nobody will listen when he talks... And that's not a good thing because this certifiable nut job is freaking hilarious.

If a legal supplement or medicine caused a failed test and you're still standing firm to "FUCK THAT HE NEEDS SUSPENDED WHATEV" that conflicts with everything you should stand for morally sooners. Clownery.

Let the excuses begin, and not just from the nut either. I think he had the Flu ready to go before the fight, as he mentioned before the fight, as a backup excuse for this.

The best part of UFN 22: Camera pans audience, Sonnen is annoying Tapout! crew. Sonnen opens mouth "Is that thing on because I got something to say to ....." Camera cuts away. Production is then a victory.

Commission said he was busted for Natural Steroids, yeah those are still steroids, still illegal to use in sanctioned competition. Maybe he didn't know right? Maybe but a guy who has fought professionally at the world level in wrestling and MMA for the better part of 10 years has no care or worry about banned substances right? okay. Natural steroids are commonly used a method of enducing the body to create more activity in adrenal glands for better proficiency sports and exercise.

This really couldn't be better in way. For all of the air and noise pollution about how much better he is in so many he ways, he wasn't better and in spite of his roids was still forced to quit. The rematch he had no right to is definitely canceled now. Being forced to quit by your opponent is the furthest thing away from being deserving of a rematch.

Chael, you deserve to get the ball cancer, but you don't deserve a fortunate battle and outcome like the man you ridiculed based on your assumptions then proceeded to lie about to the world. You don't deserve to waste time and air with your words or planted question-askers in the audience at UFC events. You don't get to talk your way into anymore matches you don't deserve.

How does that conflict? If he is busted for crack, coke, weed, acid or whatever then fine that isn't a PED just a banned substance. He is busted with pain killers, roids or just a banned supplement that me and you can get a GNC then fuck that cheater.

Maybe you're not a confused idiot, and just ignorant to the reality that legal things can easily cause failed tests, and the CSAC has been a maelstrom of incompetence and riddled in accusations of bad procedure leading to failed tests that should be clean.

Imagine if for a moment you didn't blow a few hundred braincells every night on pot, got a new job, but took some medicine before the test, a legal medicine that you didn't know and and had no reason to believe would cause you to fail a test. Would you deserve not getting the job?

You're basically arguing that if a jury finds a defendant guilty, the defendant is absolutely guilty, even if it comes out later that there was flat out incorrect evidence. That wouldn't matter. He was convicted.

OK in the rare situation that a perfectly legal and non banned substance does cause the positive test and is not just some BS excuse used by an athlete(which is the case 99% of the time), in the very rarest of occasion I will apologize to the fucking douche.

But in the far more likely scenario that this athlete fucked up I will bash the fucking shit out of him. I feel pretty comfortable that I won't have to eat my words in the 1 in a million chance the athlete did absolutely nothing wrong.

Someone's noob is showing. The legal supplements walk a fine line. Sean Sherk was innocent and proved his case, but the CASC would only cut his suspension in half to save face. The commissioner left in disgrace last year. A "natural steroid" makes it more likely he didn't take anything illegal.

But these athletes all know they're walking that fine line gambling with a small chance it could trip the roid tests off. So some responsibility does lie with them. I just don't think Sonnen would have juiced and said all the shit he said. This smells fishy.

You referencing a pre-Douglass commission though. I have much more faith in that agency today then I did when Armando Garcia was running it as a circus. The deficiencies and neglect Garcia oversaw in his time as commissioner directly led to Douglass coming in. His first priority was to overhaul athlete testing so there was no controversy or question as to a fighters external physical influences going into a sanctioned contest. The two instances, Silva and Sherk, happened under the old guard. The new testing system was utilized by CSAC around January of 2009.


The CSAC will now conduct steroid testing with one of two World Anti Doping Agency (WADA) labs in the country at the University of California, Los Angeles. In early November, the CSAC became its exclusive client for combat sports testing. Among other clients, the UCLA lab currently handles steroid testing for the NFL, NCAA, and the U.S. Olympic Team.

Douglas said the commission has doubled its funding to separate the facilities used for steroid and drugs of abuse testing. The UCLA lab will now exclusively handle performance-enhancing drugs, while the CSAC’s current facility, Quest Diagnostics, will handle drugs of abuse.

“With this budget, we should be able to test every single bout on every single show; no matter the size of the show,”he said.

A major part of Sherk and Silva’s defenses was that supplements had triggered a false positive. Douglas apparently has a plan for that too.

Under the WADA lab, the new program will also take a fighter’s supplement usage into account during steroid testing. If, for instance, an athlete discloses on his pre-fight medical questionnaire that he has used a certain supplement, particularly a supplement known by WADA to have issues with steroid contamination, the lab will consider a “false positive” likely.

According to Douglas, the new disclosure forms will address the heated issue of positive tests caused by contaminated supplements. Last year, the commission took heavy criticism after the suspension of former UFC lightweight champion Sean Sherk, who claimed his dietary supplements flagged him for steroids.

This was the story 20 months ago. The system has not digressed to one less oversight and scrutiny from what I can find.
