| The same Olympics that just cut wrestling? Doesnt surprise me. and fuck the Olympics, it is dead to me. I am just against this whole thing. Idc if the guy is gay or straight. If there is a transgender promotion created, then fight away lady boy. Until then, it is cheating in my book. No discrimination.
I see this not being any different than fighters using steroids, or cutting extreme amounts of weight to gain an advantage. Actually there is a difference, this is 100x more fucked up.
Has Dana White spoke of this yet? I would really like to hear his pov, even though he changes his story more than anyone I have ever seen.

- As for fighting in the UFC, Dana White tells us to
fight in the UFC ... Fox would have to get the green light from the state athletic commission. But he also says Fox hasn't proved herself yet ... the 2 women she's beat have never won a fight.
Dana says, "She's gotta win some real fights to even talk about the UFC." And Dana warns, "It's not like transgenders who play golf or baseball. UFC is a contact sport."

| In a recent article by Sports Illustrated's Loretta Hunt, Ms. Hunt confirmed that the ABC (Association of Boxing Commissions) approved a policy for transgender athletes via it's medical advisory board last year. It states: The guidelines set clear definitions as to what constitutes a transsexual athlete (a transgender having undergone the surgeries necessary for anatomical change), as well as minimum requirements for the hormone therapy appropriate to their assigned sex to maintain competitive equity among the athlete pool. For instance, a female transgender athlete like Fallon would be required to produce medical documentation of the relevant surgeries and procedures she underwent during transition (it should be noted that it is not a requirement for the athlete to undergo complete gender assignment surgery), as well as detailed paperwork from a board certified endocrinologist or internist showing that she underwent hormone therapy for a minimum of two years following a gonadectomy and the levels have been within acceptable range for a female. | With all that I posted above, if I'm a manager I don't see myself letting my female fighter(s) in the cage with Fox. | |

| The science clearly shows there is no advantage. No one has any argument against this other than "Derp she's a dude!!" If there is I'd like to hear but it will probably just reek of homophobia | |

The lady she last fought said that was the strongest person she's ever fought. Also homophobia is about hating on gays. No one has said anything about her being gay or not. |

| Okay, so maybe she was the strongest person she's ever fought. That anecdotal evidence disqualifies her? That scrub that Holly Holm beat up on Bellator last week and threw around would probably say the same about her. She enters the cage with a testosterone level lower (potentially much lower) than the average woman and that's to say nothing of her levels compared to an animal like Rousey. I didn't read through the other 5 pages so I don't know if this has already been discussed or not. The estrogen and T-blockers taken have negative impacts on everything important in fighting: strength, speed, weight retention. As long as the homework is done and she is cleared to fight I have no problem with it. | |

The lady she last fought said that was the strongest person she's ever fought. Also homophobia is about hating on gays. No one has said anything about her being gay or not. Hillary Williams I competed against her in 2010 and nothing, behavior, strength, etc. would have clued me into her being anything other than biologically female. Not to mention the doctors showing her levels are good. Gender and sexual identity are so much more complicated than the scientifically illiterate like to accept, and if she's happy this way while phenotypically female (including hormone levels), well I wish her the best.

Ironic, "Derp she'd a dude!!" to two seconds later not agreeing with you is equal to being homophobic. No derp there, none what so ever. - Primetyme199 wrote:
- Here's an article
Leading sex reassignment physicians weigh in on Fallon Fox http://www.bloodyelbow.com/2013/3/8/407 ... fallon-fox I think it is worth noting that the expert witness doctor for this article runs a clinic that primarily specializes in offering gender reversal procedures to their paying clients and Dr. Bowers is a male who had a sexual change procedure as well. Not a judgement of bias but also not absolved from it possibly as well. Thus far all female opponents have been beat down in less the 2:30 of the first round. Woman MMA fighters give their thoughts: Raquel Pennington- “Rocky” is 3-3 as a pro and currently competes under the Invicta FC banner. Twitter: @Rpennington020 I read the article and it’s a talk about transsexual, not transgender. In that case, I think with the qualifications being met, they should be treated equal as they are seen as a person everyday, and allowed to fight.
—————————————————————————————————————————————————- Sarah D’Alelio- Known as the “The Monster,” Sarah is a fighter for Invicta FC. Her record stands at an impressive 7-3. Follow Sarah on Twitter @SarahDalelioI think it’s fine as long as there is full disclosure and the woman is physically identifiable as a female and within the correct hormone levels. The agreement should be between the two competing women and their camps.
I myself would agree to a fight with a transgendered female, but I also understand why the majority of other women feel that there would be an unfair advantage for the transgendered.
—————————————————————————————————————————————————- Stephanie Frausto- “Macaquiha” is another Invicta FC fighter and sister of Zoila Gurgel. Follow her on Twitter @StephMacaquinhaI’m not sure what I think because I don’t know the science about the hormones of a transgender. Iwouldn’t like to speak on behalf of what I know nothing about. It would seem like a guy trying to fight in a woman’s division, but without knowing the whole story, I couldn’t tell you what I really think. All I can say is any woman who would take a fight with a transgender is very brave.
—————————————————————————————————————————————————- Rachael Cummins- The “Panther” competes on the amateur level, most notably for Tuff-N-Uff, a Las Vegas based promotion. Follow her @RachaelCummins I don’t think that it is right because no matter the sex change, it is still a man and has a far greater advantage…. But if an opponent agrees to fight, then it is ok. I don’t think a lot of women would if they knew….
—————————————————————————————————————————————————- Bridgette Batch - Another amateur, Bridgette is preparing for her professional debut. As a part of the Wand Fight Team, you can be sure she will be ready when the time comes. Follow her @TheBigBlackWolf Honestly, I’m still forming an opinion about this. After reading up on transgender operations and post-operative follow-up, and also watching and reading videos and articles from Fallon Fox herself, I feel like even though hormonally there may not still be an advantage, but physically there is the issue of the anatomical and physiological developments that she had developed prior to her decision to switch her gender. This physiology, (namely the way that the bones attach themselves in the skeletal make-up of a man vs. a woman) may give her an unfair advantage in an MMA fight against a naturally born woman. However, I do have to wonder if Fallon Fox were losing to the women she fought versus dominating them, if this would still be such an issue.
—————————————————————————————————————————————————- Aisling Daly- At 13-5, Daly has one of the most impressive records in women’s MMA. Currently, she is fighting for Invicta FC. Follow her @aisydalyOn a personal level, I have zero issues with transgender people, but I do feel transgender female fighters may have unfair advantages over those who were born female. Attributes like bone density, spacial awareness and possible residual male muscle mass.
I also disagree with the lack of disclosure on the issue. Opponents should have a choice as to whether or not they want to take the fight. In the future, with full disclosure, maybe transgender female fighters can be licensed, but their opponent must be fully informed in order to allow them to make the best decision.
—————————————————————————————————————————————————- Michelle Waterson- Michelle is one of the most popular fighters in all of women’s MMA. She fights for the atomweight title at Invicta FC 5. Twitter: @KarateHottieMMA I don’t have anything against transgendered women, but I do feel like the strength between a man and a woman is very different. That being said, it really depends on how long she has been taking estrogen. Bottom line, in my opinion, is it would be up to her opponent.
—————————————————————————————————————————————————- Katalina Malungahu- The 2-2 fighter is another competitor on the Invicta roster. She is currently based out of Las Vegas and is 2-2 as a pro. Follow her @KatalinaMMAThe way I see it, Fallon Fox to me is a beginning of a good thing. She’s giving hope to male transgenders and vice versa with the same desires to participate. But the ways she’s gone about starting in the sport isn’t something I agree with. NOT RIGHT in so many senses.
I suggest that equal opportunity is presented to transgenders in having their own bouts. Equality, so to speak, and a win/win for all. For her to compete against females in MMA, even if she’s taking female hormones, it’s still not common sense, nor does it make it right. No. I don’t agree.
—————————————————————————————————————————————————- Jessica Eye- “Evil” Eye is widely considered the best 125 lb. fighter on the planet. She competes in Bellator and has her sites set on a title there when that organization introduces a championship for her to compete for. Follow her @JessicaEvilEye
I really don’t agree with it, considering the hormonal differences that we have. You also can’t lie on your app.
—————————————————————————————————————————————————- Amber Stautzenberger- This Texas product is 1-1 as a pro, most recently competing for Dakota FC. Twitter: @AmberStautzStructurally, men are built differently from women. [I have] No problem with people wanting to switch genders, but physically she is still a he, minus the special part.
—————————————————————————————————————————————————- Cat Zingano- Cat is one of the most accomplished women in MMA. She will be part of just the second female fight in UFC history when she takes on Miesha Tate at TUF 17. Follow Cat @CatZinganoJudging it at “good or bad,” it’s happening. So we have to embrace it with pure curiosity and do a little research. The way I see it, if I were to fight a transgender, it would influence me to train smarter, not harder, and to maintain an open mind on the offense, defense, and anything in-between. But mostly, I’m gonna do my thing, no matter who they put in front of me.
—————————————————————————————————————————————————- Felice Herrig- One of the most outspoken fighters in the game, Felice can be found kicking ass in Bellator. Twitter: @FeliceHerrigIf you were born a man, then you should fight as a man. Period.

Plenty of women are born with conditions that prevent them carrying children. Does that disqualify them? Does she also have to possess the ability to clean and fix you a sammich?
