I'm torn on Santorum.
He just never seemed like a leader to me. He voted against Dr Gates for SOD, who IMO would make a GREAT prez. But he's relatedly conservative compared to Newt & Romney.

damn just 8 votes? I guess every vote counted in this one.
Why is Palin still being mentioned in political articles as if she is relevant?
U red's can hate on Obama, but u guys got nothing. Palin, Cain, Perry? Santorum was obliterated the last time he ran for office.
Romney actually aint half bad, but he has Romney care, and health care reform is THE major criticism against Obama. Too many years listening to fox tell yall how bad health care reform is. That is why no one can get behind him.
Was liking Paul, and I kind of want to overlook the racist bit, but that stuff is a killer. I was wondering why news agencies were giving him the cold shoulder. Well they were actually being polite.

lol yea Ron Paul is definitely not a racist. Have you ever heard the man speak? Do you know what he stands for? The biggest thing Ron Paul talks about is freedom and civil liberties. I've read several of his books and listen to him speak all the time. Ron Paul did not write those racist remarks and has disavowed them. It is nothing but a smear campaign. There is no real dirt on Ron, so that is why this is literally the only thing they can bring up.
as for the caucus it is a bit of a reality check. I knew Romney would do well but i didn't expect people to be brain dead enough to vote for Santorum like that. Still Ron did well and i read he, santorum, and romey split with 7 delegates each. Honestly Santorum, and Romney too but especially Santorum... the guy isn't really even a conservative. He supports big government, endless wars, doesn't care about civil liberties, never talks about inflation or the federal reserve, supports the bailouts, supports the department of education. He's basically a socialist who hates gays and is pro-life.

lol cap come on r u serious? They are giving him the cold shoulder because they dont want him to win. Believe me there has been no lack of media attention about the writings. They bring it up every single time he is on tv. You are smart enough to know that Ron Paul is not a racist. Honestly with how much the rest of the candidates hate muslims he is the only one who isn't a racist.

Ok Oggy, I need a question answered. Does Paul really believe that the earth is 5-6k years old and justifies it by saying dinosaurs and people co-existed? I know Santorum is one of those lunatics, but I've heard Paul may be "that guy" as well. Any info there???

he has a chapter in his new book called Evolution vs Creation. I'll share a little with you
" No one person has perfect knowledge as to man's emergence on this earth. Yet almost everyone has a strong religious, scientific, or emotional opinion he or she considers gospel. The creationists frown on the evolutionists, and the evolutionists dismiss the creationists as kooky and unscientific. Lost in this struggle are those who look objectively at the scientific evidence for evolution without feeling any need to reject the notion of an all-powerful, all-knowing Creator. My personal view is that recognizing the validity of the evolutionary process does not support atheism nor should it diminish one's view about God and the universe. This is a debate about science and religion...and should not involve politicians at all. "
Ron Paul has one major point in this chapter: governments in general, and politicians in particular, are not the parts of society you seek for answers to these kinds of questions. He explains that this issue has become so volatile because the federal government has gotten involved in public school curricula, though it has no authority to do so. Put simply: government should not be abusing the marketplace of ideas, either.
As Thomas Jefferson said: "It does me no injury for my neighbor to say there are twenty gods, or nor God. It neither picks my pocket nor breaks my leg.

That really makes me feel better. lol I do believe that he wont force religion on the people like Santorum will. I am scared he got that many votes. I think he will 100% force his religious beliefs on the people, and schools in general. As with most things, complete waste of time.

yea santorum is literally a nut job. Im fucking baffled by the number of votes he got. It almost makes me think it was rigged or something. This is the 1st ever primary where the votes had to be taken to a secret location to be counted...

supposedly was in Iowa 100 straight days and held 300 town meetings.
he went all out for Iowa. Let's see if he can muster similar support in areas where he doesn't put that time in.

i have not followed the republican side of presidential primaries b4 this year so I was not overly familiar with Paul. But I've been watching fairly closely this year and thus far I had not heard one mention of this till last night.
Now I know he didn't write that stuff, but it was under his wing, his name was on the newsletter, and he made $$$ off of it. That is going to be tough to overcome. It just is. And because of that reality, news outlets are going to give him the cold shoulder.

Just wondering how Santorum's religion would be "forced" on the people? Not saying Im a fan of Santorum, but I often hear this fear tactic spread about any conservative candidate that is religous. Just wondering what is meant by that or some examples of how it would be "forced" on the people...

I don't really have the time to pull specific quotes but I've heard from him and from news sources that he is very concerned with religion in our schools, specifically creationism. I don't like that at all.
