| of course he'll fight again.
the fuckstick boxing promoter that was going to pay him a lot of money to fight jeff lacy has had plenty of time to realise he'd have been filing for bankruptcy if it had gone ahead.
nick is not a world class boxer and will only be paid like one by a prize idiot. he might stamp his feet and get dana to bend over and give him a condit rematch if GSP is still out for nearly a year, MMA is the only place the bucks are for diaz unless another shit film director gives another MMA fighter a movie role for no good reason.

Yes he fought smart, but that doesnt mean it was thrilling to watch. This is a frustrating reality of high level MMA. Its fights like this and that awful Fox card which justify the current, random bonus structure. Evans and Condit should get nothing besides thier contracted rate. In title fights there should be a finishing bonus that doubles he win bonus.
YEP!! Even though Carlos did land some nice shots it was obvious that he was there to win a decision nothing more.

| I don't think we've had a more one sided poll except for maybe the one where you decided if Wolf should be a mod. | |

| I scored the fight 3 rounds to 2 for Condit. The weakness that Diaz showed was that he wasn't able to adjust, or just didn't saturday night, in the middle of the fight when his tactics weren't working. Great fighters can make adjustments on the fly and "figure their opponent out." Diaz was unable to do that. He seemed confused and frustrated for a lot of the fight. Condit outpointed Diaz and of course I would have like to have seen a more action packed fight, but the problem is that Diaz had no alternate game plan to force his style of fight. | |

| Uh..i keep hearing that Diaz, who thought he was winning, and was being told by his corner he was winning is now excluded from being a great fighter because he didn't "figure his opponent out". If he thought he was winning, why would he change. I know jimbo stole that opinion from a BE article but it's being parroted more and more. It's illogical and identifies the bias of the person who holds the opinion. Why would Diaz change his strategy when his corner was supporting the notion his aggression was winning the fight?
I scored the fight for Condit, and didn't like the post fight tantrum at all, but the confederacy of dunces out to smear Diaz or criticism of Condits conservative tactics as criticism of the real sport of MMA is driving me toward sympathy to Diaz's side more and more.

| Play by play for MMA in 2012 only exists out of tradition. I started the live discussion thread and posted about half the comments total during the event. I know you love rehashing that same comment over and over and I bet you laughed to yourself just now as if that was clever or fresh still, but its old and makes no sense in this context. C for effort though. keep ya head up. | |

| Well look who's starting to replace his marbles. A few more like that and you'll finally be half a man again. Keep up the good work. | |

| I think he said he was going to retire after the first fight with KJ Noons. He'll fight again. | |

| a lot of guys say they are gonna retire, but nick is probably the only one crazy enough to actually do it. I believe he is being honest and expressing his frustration with how mma fights are judged. Don't assume Nick is like the other guys who bounce in and out of retirement. I could easily see him just teaching at his school and helping his brother and team mates train. Im sure he'd rather get baked everyday and do triathlons and jiu jitsu then continue to deal with the pressure of being the guy who everyone wants to knock out. I hope he never retires but when has nick ever done what is expected of him? | |

| Nick makes too much to retire forever but I could see him waste months or years of precious athleticism on short lived BJ Penn like moodiness. Actually now that I say that he probably fights Penn again in the next few fights. | |

| i don't think anyone has a desire to see that fight again, it was pretty clear cut. Give Nick Hendricks, kos, or Fitch next. I wanna see how he does against a wrestler now. | |

Well, the other options were not realistic if you think Diaz was going to fight again. UFC won't end his contract so he won't fight somewhere else or go into boxing. Mostly nobody thinks he'll really never fight again. The butthurt sore loser thing was just needlessly thrown in next to the likely "yes, he will fight again" option. Pretty much a poll designed to rip Diaz.

As far as where they stand Fitch makes the most sense, although I would hate to see that be a 3 round fight and Fitch to win

I scored the fight for Condit, and didn't like the post fight tantrum at all, but the confederacy of dunces out to smear Diaz or criticism of Condits conservative tactics as criticism of the real sport of MMA is driving me toward sympathy to Diaz's side more and more. First of all, I didn't "steal" that opinion from BE article and until reading your post, didn't know they had an article about that. It was an observation from a lifetime of watching boxing, mma, wrestling, etc. Second, as the transcript from his corner shows, though his corner was saying he was winning, Diaz himself clearly had doubts about that. He knows he wasn't winning because he was being hit too much and didnt adjust to why he was getting out hit. I dont have a bias towards either fighter, as I'm not that big a fan of either. Personally, I could see that fight 3-2 for either guy.
