A few questions about Strikeforce

1. Will they change their rules now to the rules the UFC use?
2. Will they add a Bantamweight and Featherweight division?

Nick Diaz made an interesting point regarding this rule. He said that the no elbow rule forces the fighter with top control to create space b4 delivering a strike and this allows the bottom fighter a better oppurtunity to escape or apply a submission. Basically it curbs lay and pray.

they just announced that SF will use the unified rules of MMA!!!

Lorenzo says they'll continue to use the Strikeforce cage. They will use unified rules tho (I guess that means elbows now OK)

Yes it does. Elbows are OK now.

The biggest reason promotions don't allow elbows is due to insurance costs. The premiums are much higher if your allowed elbows on the ground.

High level guys are obviously good to go. The higher level SF guys benefit the most.


Lower level guys might get squeezed with now fewer options.

I got what you were saying Freak, wrestlers, top control fighters. But really all fighters at some point.
