Judging and Reffing questions Empty
PostSubject: Judging and Reffing questions   Judging and Reffing questions EmptyWed Jan 30, 2013 3:38 pm

And Primetime I want your take dood.

1. Is there any thing like a Commission conflict of interest protocol for fighters and ref/judges? I ask because apparently the Judge that scored the Hioki/Guida contest 30-27 Guida is a fellow Illinoisian and facebook friends with Guida. I'm not suggesting it is an actual conflict of interest, but could it be?

2. In the main event on FOX, we all saw the illegal tripod knee from Johnson to Dodson, not really asking so much about the rule, but Big Johns later course of action where he alerted Johnson on the status of Dodsons hands. Is there a grey area there on what John can or should be saying to a fighter?

There is a thread on here somewhere where I asked PT about being able to judge fighters he knows or has ever trained with. I don't remember all the details though. I don't know how close you have to be but I know there is a point where you can't judge someone you know. I just don't remember how well you have to be familiar with them. I'll see if I can locate the thread.

Pretty sure there was a thread called Yo PT or PT Q&A or something. Problem is the titles are too short to appear in a search and I can't find it in PT's previous post that go back to April.
I also remember talking to him about it on the chat but that thing has been cleared I'm sure since then.

if you know your friends with a fighter, you shouldnt judge his fight, switch over and be time keeper, your flat out told dont judge fights you know you sholdnt be judging

on 2, the referee can comment on action and it is a bit of a grey area but i think Big John was fine saying that in theat fight, but he has always done things like that, remember him talking to Kimbo lol
