| Last night was just another great example of needing more 10-8s and 10-10s. I also think the judges need to have monitor access throughout the fight so they can see more angles than just 1 side of the cage.
I know most are saying Jardine won the 1st round 10-8, but one judge gave the 2nd round to Jardine. Either way it is total BS.
Check the #s 1st round strikes / significant strikes Mousasi 48 / 27 Jardine 10 / 8 Jardine landed one strike on the ground and it wasn't even a power shot. Plus he did not even come close to passing.
2nd round strikes / significant strikes Mousasi 23 / 20 Jardine 6 / 6 Jardine landed 2 strikes on the ground, 1 power, 1 not. Again not even close to passing.
Mousasi was extremely dominant and should have a very very easy 29-27 with the current judging criteria.

| Every1 is really missing the point. The point dedeuction was the problem in my eyes. If that point is taken away without even a warning we arent having this conversation this morning. | |

Somewhat agree. 1st it wasn't that powerful of a shot. Jardine just used that time the recover because he was already gassing. 2nd it was just given like you said without warning or some kind of conversation. | |

| I was surprised to see the ref take a point that quick on a glancing blow. | |

| The judging does have its flaws but last night draw was fine. Bj/fitch was fine and edgar/mayard was fine. Draws are great for neither fighter really gets screwed ala rampage/machida. All a draw really means in most cases is that there is unfinished busisines | |

| The ref ruled it was not an accidental foul. When a foul is committed that's not accidental the ref is required to take a point, there is no warning. He could have DQ'd Mousassi for the kick, because it didn't really hurt Jardine he took the point away that he had to by the rules. If Jardine wouldn't have continued Mousassi would have been DQ'd. | |

| http://mmajunkie.com/news/23569/judges-monitors-approved-for-ufc-131-officials-to-request-them-at-nsac-meeting.mmaAccording to UFC Vice President of Regulatory Affairs Marc Ratner, the Vancouver Athletic Commission on Tuesday approved the use of cageside monitors for the June 11 event. Sherdog first reported the news. "It's just another tool for the judges," Ratner today told MMAjunkie.com ( www.mmajunkie.com).Vancouver Athletic Commission official Jonathan Tweedale echoed those sentiments. "Hopefully this small step, along with mandatory education for all officials, will enhance the fairness and consistency of judges' decisions if other jurisdictions follow suit," he said. "The fighters deserve as much." The tool already has been in play for the UFC, at least in one part of the country. Cageside monitors have been used on three occasions: UFC on Versus 1, UFC 117 and UFC 121. California State Athletic Commission Executive Director George Dodd told MMAjunkie.com that he requested the use of monitors shortly after he took his position in February 2010. "There are no regulations that say we can't have monitors in that area," Dodd said. "Sometimes we don't get the best look because those big bars are in the way. It just gives the judges another angle to score fights." | |

| http://mmajunkie.com/news/23672/nsac-approves-monitors-for-judges-at-future-ufc-events-including-ufc-130.mmaJudges in Nevada now have another tool at their disposal for UFC events. Today during a meeting in Las Vegas, the Nevada State Athletic Commission unanimously approved the promotion's request to install seven-inch monitors next to judges' seats. The monitors will be used at all future UFC events, including UFC 130, which takes place May 28 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. The UFC recently has requested and won permission to use monitors in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, and Philadelphia for UFC 131 and UFC 133, respectively. Nevada approved the measure with a 5-0 vote. Cageside monitors have been used at the request of the California State Athletic Commission for three separate UFC events: UFC on Versus 2, UFC 117 and UFC 121. "It's just another tool for the judges," UFC Vice President of Regulatory Affairs Marc Ratner told MMAjunkie.com ( www.mmajunkie.com) after monitors were approved for UFC 131. The monitors, which are provided by the UFC, are attached to a movable arm and can be shoved aside if a judge elects not to use them. Ratner said they supplement a judges' view when the action drifts to the side of the cage that's furthest away. The feeds shown on each venue's video boards also will be shown on the video monitors. The feed will be pulled between rounds. | |
