Ricky never struck me as the type of person who'd go near drugs.

I am starting to believe it's becoming a real problem here, I've known people from my high school and town who've started using once they left high school, it's easily available at clubs during the weekend.

(2) How do we know how often he does it? Was this his first time?

(3) A great deal of people have tried cocaine. It's a dangerous drug but you may be shocked at the number of people who use it recreationally. That includes a great deal of public figures.

(4) If Ricky is a cocaine addict, he needs to go to rehab. If not, he needs to judge his friends more carefully.

(5) Ricky Hatton's career has been a study in consistency. It's rather easy to predict what he'll do during a fight and how successful he will be (depending on who he's fighting.). Not the description of a drug addict. I doubt he was using in training camp. No unusual outbreaks of emotion recorded in or out of the ring. If this is a problem, most likely, it's a new one. If not, see (3).

(6) The objective of the tabloid television show was to make money, not portray an accurate depiction of Ricky Hatton. Let's hear what Ricky has to say and give him the benefit of the doubt. I really think he deserves that.

A lot of fighters and other high profile people do cocoine, Slappy and Fatton just got caught. I think the UK press is just trying to get some attention.

Ricky pulling it out of his sock and chopping up the blow with a credit card and bumping five rails tells me he's been getting skiid for a long time. Wonder how much this affected his performances in the ring.

Could be. It's a good an explanation as I'd be able to guess. I suspect the usual limited education leading to limited other interests and the likely ongoing physical discomfort in one's hands (among other body parts) might contribute as well.

But I really am making crap up and guessing. I'm not even sure my premise is correct. It just kinda feels that way.
