Jacare vs Lawler for MW title Jan 29th

What a great matchup. Lawler is never in a boring fight. SF is really making exciting fights lately or at least fights with exciting finishes.

Robbie Lawler as a champion takes credability away from any title. I like watching him fight, but the way his career has went he should be in fights with guys like Smith, Manhoef, and Cyborg. Jacare should win this in the first round by submission.

That's why I said "guys like" meaning brawlers who stand up and bang. Lawler is no champion! He is a great fighter, but he i still that guy who couldn't cut it in the UFC imo. Besides, I think he should be fighting Kennedy and Mayhem should fight Jacare. That's why I am throwing salt if you must know.

He has a winning record in the UFC. He fought almost entirely at WW in the UFC. He was in his early 20s in the UFC. Hasn't fought there since like 2004.

BBC, ninjas place staff are above that "couldn't cut it in the UFC" for top fighters who no longer fight in the UFC. That's stupid. Stop it.

He couldn't cut it! He would get beat by 3-4 WW's in the UFC rigt now Where would he rank at MW in UFC Wolf?
The guy shouldn't be fighting for the title imo. Cung should be in there before him and so should Mayhem. Mayhem whooped Robbie's ass already.

Robbie was 3-3 in UFC and 2-2 in SF. A huge win over a shell of Matt Linland who is a punching bag now gets you a shot at the title??? Stop this Wolf! Lawler is an exciting middle of the road guy, not a #1 contender.

His UFC losses were to Nick Diaz, Pete Spratt, and Evan Tanner. I don't see how those fights even hold meaning for anyone anymore though seeing as they were almost eight years ago now. Dude was only 20-21 years old! The only thing Cung deserves more than Robbie is a one way ticket back to hollywood because he definitely doesn't deserve a title shot.

Cung was never beaten in SF for his title. He beat the crap out of Smith and basically helped SF out when they were a young company. It would be nice to see him get a shot for his title before he retires. Just because he did movies for awhile doesn't mean he shouldn't get a shot at the belt. Lawler is not a top ten fighter and doesn't deserve shot after losing 2 of 4 fights in SF.

Lol at BBC being the only one still holding onto the idea of Cung Le being a professional fighter

Cung Le is an awesome fighter who has given many years worth of his life to martial arts and like Overeem is one of the few who won major titles in both striking and MMA. But Lawler is also an awesome fighter and one of the best MW's in the world. The UFC gave Patrick Cote a title shot. Lawler would be fighting for a belt within six months of joining the UFC.

BBC just likes to troll a forum he mods on.

I was hoping they could import Santiago to fight Jacare, or set up a third fight with Mayhem....but...Lawler has not technically lost a fight at MW in some years.

How am I a troll here? I don't think Lawler is a #1 contender who deserves a shot at the belt. I think Cung and Mayhem deserve a shot before Lawler. That is called an opinion Wolf. Cote was on a tear hen he got his shot if I remember correctly. Big Difference from a guy going 2-2.
