| http://abcnews.go.com/US/students-body-modification-religion-questioned-nose-piercing-controversy/story?id=11645847Is it really a big deal? Apparently to the school district's dress code. Should she have a problem removing it? You wouldn't think so, but apparently she belongs to a "church" that uses piercing, tattooing and suspending themselves from body hooks to "strengthen the bond between mind, body and soul". You know, my kids should be allowed to go to school without the constraints of clothing (They think modesty is for the weak judging by the way they run around our house), despite what society and the school district tells us what they can and can't do. I think I'm going to start a "church" for the nude and when my kids are sent home, I will go to the liberal media and have them cover our plight... | |

Why not? Your work can tell you no piercings. It's not like you can't put them back in.

| Actually it's only challenging her freedom to demand she not have it at all. To demand she remove the piercing while on the grounds is perfectly within their rights, especially if it was already in the dress code. Unless she can come up with a passage in some kind of document certified from the church that explicity cites a nose piercing as something specific to the religion(such as a yamaka is for the jewish community, crosses for christians, etc etc etc) then there is no reason they cannot ask her to remove it during the time she is there. | |

They can tell her not to wear shorts that are too short, shirts cut too low, why can't they tell her to take it out until school is over? Freedom? Please, tell the spoiled bitch to put the iphone away and take out the piercings until school is over. OMG WTF? My rights are sooo being violated.

| It's that school's right to make a school uniform for students to abide by. If she doesn't like it she can go to another school. |

| After seeing how diminutive the piercing is to me it seems extreme how the school is making a fuss out this issue. |

| The "church" does not require that their members wear their flair at all times. Members who have been fired from their jobs for failing to remove piercings in the past have lost every case brought up in the past. She's just being an attention whore and a distraction at this point. | |

You don't even know her sooner. Crying for her freedom because of a piercing? I think I know enough. I was speaking in general anyways, not about his whore in particular.

| The church doesn't require it. So she's flat out wrong. Remove the piercing and stop trying to get on Fox News, brat.
This highlights a broader issue of the sprung-up-over-night fad religion that invents stupid practices just to challenge shit on freedom of religion grounds. Always a fine line to walk between religious freedom and telling some attention whores to shut the flying fuck up.

Your dont have the same rights inside a school. Can people speak whenever they choose in a school? NO. See my point? |

Even then it doesnt matter. Not all religous practices are legal. You cant even wear a yamaka in schools. No hats is part of the dress code as well in almost all schools. |

Always a fine line to walk between religious freedom and telling some attention whores to shut the flying fuck up. Your freedoms dont apply the same way in schools as it does in real life. These people for some reason are always targeting the schools for their stupid shit. I just dont understand why you would want to target the place that educates your kids. |

Like my wife calls them: "Prosti-Tots" At least once a day I have to go get a female teacher to make a little skank go change their clothes. Its bad. I dont understand how a parent buys this shit for their kid. What is cute about having a 15 year old dress like she is going to work the corner? |
