| I can't believe the ignorance here. Men and women have fought in RIO Heroes with the women doing very well. That's against men who would certainly whoop all of your asses.
And to the idiots claiming an easy KO, dumb hoosiers like you beat up their wives CONSTANTLY, but very rarely ever KO them. These are women that are infinitely less dangerous than Cyborg.

| Wow... I never thought this thread would reach this level. The answer is pretty simple. If you're a guy relatively close in size with little to no combat training, she's going to clean your clock. If you're a guy with a distinct size advantage with little to no combat training, her chances decrease rapidly but she would likely still prevail depending on the level of ability of the guy. If you're a guy relatively close in size with moderate to heavy combat training, you stand a pretty solid chance of taking her out depending on the level of training and your willingness to finish her (Unless you prove to have less balls than her in the cage - Can't have mercy because she's a chick, errr sort of). If you're a guy with a distinct size advantage with moderate to heavy training, you WILL destroy her unless your training is all for show and you have the killer instinct of Richard Simmons and are simply afraid to hurt the woman.
No one's going to ever convince me that a fit guy that runs 6'-3" and 240 and has a fair amount of MMA skills will ever lose to a "chick" that is 100 pounds smaller... PERIOD. We have women in our gym with years of BJJ, TKD and boxing training that mix and spar with the guys. I have been hit five times harder by a newbie guy that runs 225 than by a 150 pound girl that has years of experience (Even with me going half speed due to their extreme speed and reach disadvantage). I have had the same newbie guys have the strength and power to leverage and power out of solid holds with direction, whereas the most experienced women could not budge my grip on them even with me telling them exactly what to do. Experience and training cannot overcome the physical differences between men and women. Yes, we know we are talking about Cyborg... But she's still a chick (We think)...

LOL at this ass backwards statement. Why do these heavily "experienced " women need you to tell them how to get out of a position. Are we to believe you are some high level fighter? Of course someone who is athletic, trained, willing to destroy a girl, and holds a 100lb weight advantage could beat her. No one is arguing that Don Frye would lose to her.

Jaro, I know you're sharper than this. I didn't want to get personal in this thread (Tough to do without making a point about strength and position from a personal stand point when dealing with idiots who have never strapped on a gi, pair of wrestling shoes or boxing gloves). Take it for whatever it's worth from the points I was making. You don't have to be Brock Lesnar to take down a 145 pound female fighter of any level... Only an idiot thinks otherwise...

| I agree likes to fight
i am not say I could beat a fighter on that level my weight i am saying a chick that gives up 50 lbs is going to get wrecked by any atheletic guy with some experience and 50 lbs on her.

| LTFG, I know what your saying and I agree for the most part. I was just pointing out that your example was pointless since apparently you know more than them if your trying to tell them how to get out of it. You wouldn't be giving pointers to Cyborg is all I'm saying. | |

And you know that how? You cannot assume that everyone that frequents an MMA board is some cubicle jockey that goes 5-9 and three bills. I am saying that because of my 40 years of wrestling experience, I am giving pointers to just about everyone I work with on what to do there... You assume that someone who comes here as a distraction from their every day monotony might have insight that even the best could use, and that's just wrong. Cyborg has very solid JJ skills and average at best wrestling ability even for a woman. She hits like a girl, even if it is an angry girl... Even to a downed opponent. It's apples and elephants to compare strength and technique between men and women... PERIOD. That's all I'm trying to say, and any reasonable person would get it and see it without first hand knowledge.

The odds are overwhelmingly in my favor that you ARE NOT good enough to be involved in pro MMA, coaching Cyborg or otherwise, therefore my assumption that you wouldn't be giving pointers to Cyborg is valid. The fact that you are that old just strengthens my perspective that you have apparently lost touch with the reality of the situation. Keep hanging onto your wrestling glory days thinking you could teach these youngsters a thing or two, just like every other middle aged guy that played high school football, baseball, wrestled, etc...

Better technique then Cyborg and Carano (watch the kids at the end)...sadly... Hey Jimbo... I see you post these on occasion and have a question as to whether or not there's a point to them? Some kids learn faster than others, Team Shamrock praises all kids the same regardless of ability, you like Team Shamrock's training techniques? Elaborate if you will... My point was in the comment below the link. The wrestling displayed in the Carano vs. Cyborg fight was just plain bad. It was at a lower level then kiddie wrestling. Of course, that is but one aspect of mma, but just something that was glaring to me. Second, as Couture often says, part of mma is finding your opponents weakness and exploiting that. Therefore, my post would seem to support your position that you could beat Cyborg, whether true or not. This was actually the first "Team Shamrock" video I have ever posted, though I do post other wrestling videos.

Keep hanging onto your wrestling glory days thinking you could teach these youngsters a thing or two, just like every other middle aged guy that played high school football, baseball, wrestled, etc... You're right Jaro, a guy who wrestles 3-4 days a week and teaches others the same is EXACTLY the same as a guy who played sports in high school and has sat on a couch for 25 years. There's a difference between a guy that wrestled 40 years ago and a guy who still wrestles and teaches... Grow up and stop assuming you know the world. You are really tossing any cred you had with me off to the side here. Am I good enough to be in MMA? No... I'm an old man and don't "need" to even think about it for shits and giggles. Do I have enough experience in various disciplines to help others?... Yes, and I do help others. It's as simple as that. I think you are pointing in the wrong direction looking for someone who needs a reality break. Agan, just because you don't appear to be someone who practices the art that he follows, doesn't necessarily mean the same holds true for the others here!

This was actually the first "Team Shamrock" video I have ever posted, though I do post other wrestling videos. I was speaking of your "various" videos, not just the Shamrock video. And I agree... Aside from the poor wrestling displayed, you have to look at the striking. These women throw very awkward punches that lack snap and power. They aren't much of a threat to any guy that has training and knows how to strike or defend. Without trying to sound like an ass, this whole thread just stinks of ignorance from people that have done nothing in their lives but sit and watch on a flat screen... One thought that just popped into my head is the concept of a guy with real training landing just a simple straight right to the chin of a woman... Consider a woman's head is normally about 5% smaller and the bone structure is much thinner than a man of the same height and weight. Talk about a jaw that couldn't take a hit... Literally.
