| Here's what I heard in Chad's post fight interview with Larry Merchant.
Larry: So, what happened Chad?
Chad: Well, I don't have any excuses. My dog died, a tornado hit my house before the fight, I was in a car accident on my way to the fight, I think the anti depressants I'm taking have slowed me down and I have the flu. There's a lot more to this that I'll talk about later.
Larry: I thought you said you didn't have any excuses?
Chad: I said I didn't have any excuses and I don't.

| Chad Dawson lost because another fighter wanted to win alot more than he did. If he had any killer instinct, he would have let his darn hands go (especially in the final few rounds when Pascal appeared to be tiring). | |

| A single loss is no big deal. But the WAY Chad laid an egg was really strange. I mean how often does that happen? An accomplished fighter doesn't just have an off night, but has a spectacularly bad night not because he got overwhelmed or overmatched, but mostly of his own voloition?
Golata-Bowe, Golata-Tyson, Rocky Juarez his whole life, Michael Spinks-Tyson I guess.
But how often does that happen?

| Chad has nobody else to blame but himself.
My father and I were both commenting during the fight: "He is not fighting like somebody who actually wants to win the fight."
I don't know what his problem was, but he better fix it. That was a disgusting display and I can't believe he could be so passive and uncompetitive in nature. Especially given how Pascal was reacting to Chad when Dawson would open up.... Pascal was getting hurt, and put in trouble. But.... Dawson would go back to doing nothing and let him off the hook.

That's what I was saying. "Where is the killer instinct?" If he's taking some meds to even him out, I would suggest dropping the pills before his fights.

| I am really starting to detest Chad Dawson "It's funny, in the press conference he said 'that I wasn't going to run like a chicken' but he was the one who ran like a chicken all night. Honestly, he was the one who ran like a chicken. I came looking for a fight but I ended up chasing him around the ring all night," Dawson said.
"I know he wanted to protect the little lead he had. He scored a punch so he wanted to run and run and run, but who's the chicken? I didn't fight like a chicken. I pressed the fight. He jumped around like a chicken all night."http://www.boxingscene.com/?m=show&id=30108 |

If you lie long enough to yourself you start to actually believe it. Dawson should be letting his eye heal and prepare himself for his comeback. He didn't get beat up too bad and he should immediately take on a big name. He has a rematch clause that should be executed immediately. They should fight in December for the last big fight of the year or January for the first fight of 2011.

| Dawson is a bitch and now officially a loser. I'm glad Pascal handed Chad his ass. I hope Dawson gets ktfo in his next fight.
BTW Dawson you f'ing idiot: good luck becoming a draw in Montreal now - the only place that has ever paid to watch one of your fights.

http://www.boxingscene.com/?m=show&id=30108 It really is unbelievable. Twice in the late rounds Dawson stopped pursuing, dropped his hands and WAITED. Can you imagine a Qawi or a Saad Muhammad or hell even a Glenn Johnson being so passive while being beaten?

| How dumb are Gary Shaw and Chad for not putting an immediate rematch clause in the contract. |

| Shaw and Dawson had no more leverage in negotiations than Pascal. They needed each other. I'm sure the interim bout clause was a compromise. | |

| I really hope the Bute fight happens next, that way it will render the rematch pointless because I don't see Pascal beating Bute. |

I'm confident the Bute fight will happen next because the rematch clause said Pascal can take a fight before the rematch and that fight will be massive (assuming Bute handles Brinkley like he should). Dawson's eye will have to heal up too. If Bute wins, I don't see why he would fight Dawson until Dawson beat Pascal. Chad's excuses are weak. He's delusional. |

| Below is an article on boxingscene. If the quotes in there are true then in the dictionary under delusional there is a picture of "Bad" Chad Dawson
By: Mark Vester Chad Dawson is not happy with the tactics used by Jean Pascal during last Saturday's light heavyweight unification in Montreal. Pascal won a unanimous eleven round technical decision when a clash of heads opened up a deep cut above the right eye of Dawson. The fight was stopped and sent to the scorecards.
During the final press conference, Pascal told Dawson "don't run like a chicken." Dawson says it was Pascal who ran all night and refused to fight him toe to toe. Dawson plans to exercise the rematch clause. The rematch clause is not immediate so both boxers can take an interim fight.
"It's funny, in the press conference he said 'that I wasn't going to run like a chicken' but he was the one who ran like a chicken all night.
He jumped around like a chicken all night."

A bizzarre fight. Dawson passively pursuing Pascal who 3-4 times a round would dash in and throw combinations and get back out. In response Chad would move straight back and not counter. Then Dawson would close and not throw, close and not throw and close and not throw some more. In a couple of rounds when he let his hands go he hurt Pascal, or at least seemed to. And then he just stood there and let Pascal recoup. Finally in the 11th he came ROARING out, pinned Pascal in a corner and wailed away with an 10-12 punch barrage that had Pascal wilting...then Chad let him out and did nothing for the next minute, then he stops Pascal dead still with a counter right hook and steps away. Just weird.
