| Vladimir Matyushenko Jason Brilz Brandon Vera Keith Jardine Matt Hamill Tim Boetsch Luiz Cane
EDIT - these guys all had their last fight under contract to the UFC, the NFL of the sport, and they're all top level guys. What does the division look like outside the top ten?

| Gee Wolf, you grabbing for straws? At best these are mid-level guys. And don't take that wrong, I love the Dean of Mean and Matt "whad da fud did shay" Hamill. But come on?! Vera couldn't beat a 45 year old mans ass now I gotta rank him? Please. | |

| Holy shit. In what other sport when someone asks to rank the very best in the world outside the top ten in the leading organization in the sport, would there be a "omfg gag lolz"? Like, for instance if I created a list of tennis players who are world class but outside the top ten, or a list of QBs that excluded Brees, Manning, Manning, Favre, Brady, Rivers, Ryan ect. Any of these fighters would be champion in any MMA promotion world wide save the UFC and Strikeforce.
Was discussion on the LHW division south of the top ten really too much to ask? Guess so.

| A rise out of the board? We've discussed Rampage/Shogun/Evans ad nausaum, and Matyushenko fights tonight. I just wanted to gauge where he, and also another fighter I think is underrated, Jason Brilz, are viewed amongst similar UFC fighters.
Again, what other sport would discussions of the best in the world south of the top ten be regarded as trolling?

I am going to do this according to who I think would beat who imo, not by wins and losses. 1. Vera 2. Brilz 3. Vlad 4. Hamil 5. Cane 6. Jardine 7. Boetsch Phil Davis would beat all of them imo.

| Phil Davis has shitty training partners and has slow developing striking. Against wrestlers he'd be in big trouble. | |

| His lead trainer looks at his Iphone text messages while he is working on his fighters in the corner. Lloyd Irvin is great for disarming intruders, and winning regional BJJ team competiton, not MMA training.
Phil's best partner and best fighter from his camp - Brandon Vera. Under Lloyd, Vera went from the next big thing to a failed prospect.
Google Phil Davis interview and listen to him talk about his striking game. Very slow developing. Until further notice Phil Davis is not in the Mo/Jones category.

I never said that he was in Mo or Bones category yet, but he will be. The guy is an up and coming force to be reckoned with who doesn't like to brag on himself. Only time will tell?

| Or a one dimensional lay and pray artist that would be fucked against another wrestler with better striking. | |

| Yeah Davis is a ways off still. He doesn't have the natural striking ability that other top prospects have shown. He's totally one-dimensional at this point | |

| I know that choke on Gustaffson was pretty sick. Vera will help him in the long run with his striking. | |

He may need to move on. It wouldn't hurt to go and train with a better camp.

| I've only seen maybe four of his fights, his pearl moment in the Rogerio fight was good and if I was putting my opinion out based on that he would be tops, I'm not there yet though from the rest I've seen. | |
