| I rank him behind Anderson, Liddell, and Hughes. Probably behind GSP after its all said and done. I rank him ahead of Gracie, Shamrock, Ortiz, Miletech, Sylvia, & Franklin. | |

| It's arguable where u put him, and I know some would put him at 1 that's why I asked, and Chael's idiotic rant where he says he's the best ever.
I think he's behind the 4 guys u mentioned, at 5, then I'd put BJ above all the other guys u mentioned.

Is Timmy really worth mentioning? Pulver, Severn, even Franklin would be ahead of him I would think.

Is Timmy really worth mentioning? Pulver, Severn, even Franklin would be ahead of him I would think. He went 5-4 in 9 title fights. I think that is worth mentioning. In comparison Franklin is 3-2 in 5 title fights & Pulver is 3-0 in 3 title fights (not counting the WEC). I left off Penn accidentally. I have been at 6 right behind Randy. He's got a chance to pass him as well.

| I think Penn will pass Randy personally, Penn could climb as high as 3 for me, I think Anderson and GSP will be interchangable at 1-2. If BJ were so some how win the WW belt again, he could possibly move higher. | |

| I would have to say Silva, Liddell, Hughes, Randy, Royce, GSP, BJ, somewhere in that area seems about right. | |

| Ranked as far as hype, the ability to only ever have been in one non-main event fight on a PPV and the willingness in the past to only fight the best of what was available for him to fight... #1.
As far as true ability and domination of his weight classes... I love Randy, but I'd have a hard time making a strong case to get him oin the top-5.

I think the question, as it is posted, is far too generic to easily answer, which leads me to agree with LikesToFightGuy. Top 6, as far as ranking fighters with most impressive wins and significant losses, I think are Anderson Silva, Chuck Liddell, Matt Hughes, BJ Penn..... I guess here is where I'd put Randy. Royce, Miletich, Frank Shamrock, and all those other fighters who were in it earlier come after my first five because most of my first six were in it back when they were, or shortly after, and have kept fighting for UFC for long after and still did well.

| ^^^^^^^Crap, I forgot to put GSP in there. GSP would be #3 after Chuck, move everyone back and Randy #6. | |

| He needs to retire. He's just not as good as he used to be and watchin him fight these days pisses me off.
His last fight was painful to watch...all he did was pin him up against the cage for 3 rounds!
I'm hoping that since Coleman is a good wrestler too that it turns into a standup war or something cuz I cant stand to see Randy pin someone up against the cage for 3 rounds again.

| Top five obviously. First man ever to win belts in two weight classes, won tournaments, competed into his late 40s with the best, 130 title fights. Wins over Liddell and Ortiz who I'd also have in or around the top five.
My list is weighted toward LHW fighters because of the history of the divison.
1. Anderson - undefeated in the Octagon, best striker in history, holds consecutive wins record and will soon have title defense record. Best ever. Period. 2. Liddell - Helped bring MMA from the dark ages to the big stages. One of the most feared strikers ever. 3. Royce Gracie - MMA's Otto Graham. Has to be included on these lists out of respect. 4. Randy - ^^^ 5. Tito. - because I said so. Defense record for LHW, most storied division ever. 6. Hughes - The most dominant WW of all time, wins over Penn and GSP. 7. GSP - He will eventually over take Hughes though. 8. BJ Penn - He'll eventually be higher too. 9. Frank Shamrock - He should be higher but the UFC hype machine has made us all forget about everything he did. 10. Mark Coleman - Ground + pound = your face / hamburger.

| Your manlove for Hughes is disturbing. Ortiz is second-in-command GOAT to Liddell for the LHW division. Besides the recent Forrest loss, he never once lost to a fighter who couldn't be argued as the best in the world at the time. Title defense record. Beat Wanderlei Silva head to head easily.
Yes he is a weirdo with a pornostar wife who says a lot of strange shit, but that doesn't take away his in-cage heroics anymore than all the nonsense Hughes has said takes away his. Both get underrated by analyists and fans because they dislike them personally, and that's unfortunate.

| Good question. I put Spider, Hughes, Liddell, BJ, GSP are definitely ahead of him in my book. Also he could be behind guys like Royce and Tito. Although he did beat Tito handlely. I would say in the 6 to 8 range however u decide to stack it up. | |

Both get underrated by analyists and fans because they dislike them personally, and that's unfortunate. Everyone is ranking Hughes high because he deserves it. Tito on the other hand doesn't and pretty much only you rank him that high. Look at Tito's resume. The Wand win is the only one that is impressive. Beating Tanner & Metzger isn't bad. Beating Belfort is nice. The whole Shamrock saga was pathetic. And the narrow win early in Forrest's career was solid. While overall Tito has had a great career and will be in the UFC HOF, but he is not a top 5 UFC champ of all time and not above Couture.
