What song reminds you of the good old days?

2000's blow give me a break

Nothing stands out for me from the 00's as great music, I don't really see future generations lookin back on that decade as a great period for music.

I think that section is music history is kinda forgetable also.

maybe for metal fans and boy band fans but in terms of actual music 00's was the best since the 60's.

I definitely don't see that but to each their own I guess. Just not into most of the bands you listed earlier. I don't understand how people can listen to Sigur Ros for more than 10 minutes before it just gets old

Yeah when you listen to the radio that's what you are going to hear. I guess me and Golbez are the only two with any sense to find good modern music. The rest of you are just living in the glory days.

No, we know we do. Because we realize that music is appealed to the individual and not the masses. You could find music that you and you alone like if you wanted, but you chose not to. (or maybe don't care to)

Anybody who says the 2000s sucks in terms of music is only insulting themselves. It tells me they dont care, they're lazy, and they are influenced by the masses.

I was a Music Business major when I first started school. And I wrote a really good paper on how the internet was the biggest step forward in the art of music since the 60s, and the downfall for everything that corrupted it, i.e. major labels, radio stations, limited choices. Would have gone along with this thread, mentioned how every following decade after the 60s you started seeing the shift from music art decline and music business increase.. until the internet shifted the balance back to where it should be..

Holy fuck this would require a whole new thread for what I want to say, you are really insulting someone by believing they are influenced by the masses instead of just realizing the music of this era is lacking. From what I've seen you post you're into, well I'll be kind. OMG! you've taken some music classes in school? give me a break.

I have done a lot more than just taken some music classes in school.. but you are right, it is insulting to accuse someone of that. And I always hope my assumptions are wrong..

And you can say anything you want about music that I might be into, it wouldn't change anything.

Yeah that's the music you're into, but that doesn't mean it's great music, not that you do, but you could like Maroon 5 or whatever and think that's great music, but just because in this era you personally like some music, does not mean it's a great era for music in the least.

The internet itself makes this a great era, our taste in music can differ.. but it makes it to where we both can find what we are looking for.

The music i listen to is great music.. what would make it not great music?

The internet provides something unique to this era, a source of an unlimited range of music at your finger tips, and while truly groundbreaking, what is being questioned here is the quality of music produced in this era. The music you listen to is great to you, but doesn't mean it's great. Now of course you could comeback with "just as it isn't great to you" at the same time just because you specifically like some music in this era, it's a bit riduculous to say this is such a great era for music. Many others will disagree and think this is by far the worst era for music.

I have a very wide range when it comes to music, please post your top 5 bands for me, I will lisen to each over the next week or so, if I'm not familiar.

hrm.. I don't know how I feel about giving you 5 bands that I like, respect, met, and seen live multiple times with the mood from this thread. And I don't know what me giving you music I like would do for this topic, I doubt there would be "Well Golb was right actually" .. because everyone should have different taste.. but if the whole thing is to prove something I will pass, and keep my bands to myself. Unless you are just wanting some new music..

I would want to break it down to genres anyway, I have bands I like in almost every (or I try anyway) .. some genres I could understand not fancy people.

Kind of a dick move actually, I'm saying I'll give some of the shit u like a look, I mean u talk big about this era and the music around now. Eh whatever
