| As long as he fights Belfort I don't care what happens after that. Wouldn't make much sense to stay at middle if he beat these two though | |

Why because there is an issue with being the best at your WC? How is competition the fighters responsibility?

| Well, after his comments after Andersons last fight I think this could get ugly. I could definitely see Anderson taking down Sonnen and Belfort and then Dana saying move to 205 or else... And Anderson giving Dana a middle finger and packing his bags... | |

| He'll stay because by that point, there will be very little outside the UFC, I think we see Fedor after his contract is up. | |

Why should he move? Because Dana can't find a guy to beat him? Not his problem.

| LA, you couldn't see him heading to fight Dream and Strikeforce bouncing weight classes?
I do find it odd that as much run as Dana has been giving Shields coming to the UFC, he isn't leaving an option for him as an opponent for Anderson...

| Kind of agree with Dana. He doesn't even need to beat those guys in my mind if he wants to move up to bigger fights.
GSP is still building up to 185. I think he's the only true guy left for Silva at that class, but only down the line.

Why should he move? Because Dana can't find a guy to beat him? Not his problem. Not just that... But there is definitely some obvious tension between the two now. I think if Dana keeps barking at him and calls him out at the wrong time, he may seek new surroundings...

Why because there is an issue with being the best at your WC? How is competition the fighters responsibility? Because he's supposed to be one of the greatest ever and its not difficult for him to fight at 205. Why would he stay at MW and keep beating people he's already fought? Its a way to cement your legacy and keep adding great wins. Can you imagine how boring boxing would have been over the last few years if Pacquiao just decided to stay at a lower weight demolishing people instead of moving up to make big time fights? That's how you go down as one of the greatest ever IMO

| yet he wants gsp to stay at 170?
How do u make a fighter vacate a title?
I'm all for allowing him to fight at a higher weight, but you can't just take his title away. and then let dudes fight for it who have been crushed by silva?

| I used to think he might leave, but the fights are all in the UFC for him.
Sheilds will be a WW in the UFC, if he signs
Watch out for Wandy, if he moves his way up in the time Anderson fights Sonnen and Vitor, there's a def 3rd fight

Dana and Joe's job is to find the best MW fighers in the world to challenge him. If Silva moved it would be a favor to the UFC, not his obligation.

| I worry about Wandy though... His skills are definitely now what they were 5 years ago and Anderson is just in a different league.
I guess in the not so distant future, we're going to find out just how badly he wants to be a LHW...

That's how you go down as one of the greatest ever IMO spider wanted to fight Mir, and dana shot it down. so silva is all in on finding legit fights. dana is driving a wedge here. seems purposeful. Without a belt spider could jump. I know he has had beef with silvas performances, but is he trying to jettison the guy he considers the p4p #1?

| You know when Dana says this
"I believe that when you make a move like that, for me, it's always all about legacy," White said. "It's never about money or any of that [expletive], so you have to clean out the division."
That anything before it or after it is bullshit. Scratch that whenever Dana opens his mouth bullshit follows. Just like him claiming he'd cut Anderson yeah fucking right! Anderson could go out in his next fight do exactly what he did vs Maia then grab the mic and tell everyone in the arena including Dana to lick his balls and Dana wouldn't cut him.

But when the bosses can't find marketable fights for you they can ask you to make a move. And it will be within his rights to say yes or walk away. There are a lot of dangerous fights at 205 for him... I'm wondering if he'll accept the challenge or head elsewhere if Dana holds true to this request? And if he does head elsewhere, will fans say he's ducking this new wave of LHW's?

He might as well retire at that point

I don't understand the demand for BJ, GSP and Spider to move up. Why not just demand the rest of the divsion step their game up? Can you talk shit about the best 200lb wrestler in the world because he won't wreslte the HW? So you can't find anyone to beat me at my game so you are trying to handicap it so that others have a chance? I just don't like that concept.

Anderson is being critisized for being too good at his job.
