| http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=4953182Basically it goes down like this -Coin flip -If the team that gets the ball first scores a TD, game over -If the team that gets the ball first scores a FG, then the other team gets a chance to tie or win with a TD. -If the 2nd team ties with a FG, then first team to score after wins | |

| They still couldn't go the route of equity. They should of done it like college but each team has to kick off to the other instead of starting on the 25. | |

| I like the way it is now, I don't see any need for change. I don't see any need to give both teams an attempt to score. | |

| Because they just played an even game for 60 minutes where one team kicked off at the start of the game and the other kicked off after halftime. I don't see how having a coin flip play that much of a role in deciding the game makes any sense. It would be like baseball just suddenly going into sudden death rules when the game went into extra innings | |

| I don't see why asking 1 team to play deffense is somehow giving the other team the game. You play good enough D and you will get the ball in a better position then the other team anyways. Plus you have an entire game to show you are the better team. I don't see the current rules as being unfair in any way shape or form. I don't understand the issue. I hate college OT, starting in field goal range is just fucking stupid IMO. | |

| I agree with you on the college OT issue. Not having to gain one yard and still being in field goal range is extremely stupid. I do think they have the right idea with both teams getting a possession though, they just need to start a lot further back | |

| I dont care for the current NFL overtime that much but I dont like the new rules either. I like the college overtime though because I think it makes for a fun game. Besides I think people make a big deal out of overtime in football. What percentage of games actually go to OT probably like 1 percent lol. | |

| How about this? They play an extra "quarter" (15min) broken up into 2 halves. There is a coin toss just like to start the game. Whoever wins can take the ball or defer to the 2nd half like normal. Then after 7min 30 sec it's "halftime" and they switch sides and kick off again. Each team gets 1 TO and 1 Challenge each half. Whoever has the most wins. If there is no winner then we call it a draw. | |

Because the NFL is now an offensive league and they tie the hands of defenses with all these new rules in order to inflate stats and points. This is fair in this day in age.

Union would never go for this. They would site that injuries would occur at a higher rate and they would probably be right.

| I prefer the college rules but I really don't have a problem with how NFL OT is handled now.
I'd rather the NCAA move to a playoff format for major college football than the NFL change the OT rules.

| IMO it should stay the way it is. Sudden death is the best way to end a tied game if you ask me. Who wants the win more? | |

| they should have 10 minute OT's until someone wins. No matter how long the game is. Conditioning should be part of the game too. | |
