| Just wanted to see what everbody thinks about the real possiblily that we may have the first overall pick in the draft and what you think they should do in their current position. With Manning staying off IR, I think there going to have him work out sometime in Dec. Lets assume for the sake of this disscussion that he will be fine and ready to play a few more years, should the Colts draft Luck and rebuild around him?
I'm not sold on Luck being the next Manning so I'm hoping they trade our draft spot for a couple first rounders to add to our defense. Or draft Luck then trade him for some good defenders

Both teams pick a warrior. Steel cage match. Winner gets the 1st pick.

| I think we should draft Luck... Manning will be around for a few more years and im sure he'll mentor da fuck out of Luck. But we have so many weaknesses that i don't think we can afford not addressing them. tough situation | |

Dumbest possible move is keeping Luck.

| I think Indy should draft Luck and groom him a few years ala the Packers with Rodgers/Favre.
He'll be 23 next year and if he sits 2-3 years then he starts he career at 26 tops. Te same age as Kolb and a little older than Rodgers.
QB is the most important position on the field. If he's half as good as he hyped then Indy is set for another 10 years. Plus he makes a great insurance policy if manning comes back and sin;t the same or gets re injured.

| I think that would be the worst possible move. That's still Manning's team. That pick has an insane value and the Colts would be retarded not to cash in on that. They could get a ton back. | |

What if Manning isn't the same when he comes back? Its obvious hos valuable a top notch QB is (playoff team to winless) with him. This may be your once in a lifetime shot to replace him. While its never a sure thing, this seems like the closest shot any team could take. I see your argument though. Who knows what they could get for him?

I see your argument though. Who knows what they could get for him? We know the answer to that is A LOT! A whole lot. There will be teams out there willing to give up very sweet deals for Mr.Luck. We don't KNOW Peyton will still be Peyton anymore then we KNOW Luck will be an elite QB. But 1 thing we do KNOW is you can get a ton in return for Luck at the current moment.

| i'm a dolphins fan unhappy with accusations of tanking, so i've had an eye on other struggling teams. the colts look the worst team in the league by a long way right now though i struggle to believe anyone would tank games. it would appear that manning is individually worth 12-13 wins a season by himself.
manning can't have that much gas in the tank even if he comes back 100% after his neck injury, i firmly believe they will take luck unless they get a blockbuster trade offer they can't refuse.

| We need some guys on defense bad. I say they trade down and pick up some 1st and 2nd round picks. We need guys all around and I am thinking Peyton still has a good 3 years left minimum. We can address a new QB on down the road. | |

| You could realistically get 1 superstar plus 2 first round picks for Luck. The worth on that pick is just insane at the moment. Much too high for someone with a elite QB to pass up on IMO. You are going to get a TON in return. | |

That's what I hope they do, trade luck get badass defenders or the best we can get for him. Again this is assuming Manning is good to go which we'll find out more about later on but if he's good then our offense will def get the job done with him we just need defenders like crackheads need their next hit. Our defensive ends can't do it alone, I wish we still had Bob Sanders when he could play a whole season threw.

I remember that year when he didn't get hurt, lol. I am nnot against them letting Sanders go because it sounded like he wasn't gonna be durable enough to come back and play anyway. Sanders was a beast though and I miss the shit outta him. WE WILL BE BACK!

| U have got to draft Luck! Its not 100 percent that Peyton will ever play again. He said again today that his neck is healing very slowly and still has a long way to go to be ready to ever think about playing again. Manning is my favorite QB ever but every1 gets old and has to be replaced. The Packers did it and it ended up getting them a ring a few years later. As a fan u may say trade the pick but as the owner I would say draft Luck hands down. | |

A lot of unknowns just like who knows what they'll get for #1 and if it is picks then they are just as unlikely to work out as Luck is. Manning will be 36 next year. How often do old QBs stay good? Father time waits for no one.

| Oh man it is so tough to watch them this year, Painter just can't seem to get it, I do think with a halfway decent backup the Colts would have won a few games, the D is doing all they can but they are not getting much time to rest this year.
As much as I love Peyton you have to draft Luck, as this season is showing the Colts don't have anyone that even can play halfway decent at QB, they have had a hell of a run with Manning, one Superbowl, wish there was more, still think we should've beat the Saints. He can mentor Luck for 2 years or 1 Year, and he won't be a complete D-bag lile Favre was with Rodgers. You don't turn down a chance to get another franchise QB. Reminds me of a Joe Montana kind of thing, the only difference is that his replacement was already sitting behind him.

| If they draft Luck and he sits behind Manning and learns from him for a year would his trade value decrease at all if Manning is 100% again and the Colts want to trade Luck? |
