| Hendo vs. Sonnen might not be as cut and dry as you'd think. I think it'd be a pretty close fight. | |

Maybe because of styles, but I can't see Sonnen finishing Hendo. He's have to grind it out and Hendo is better in the clinch.

| Who said he has to finish him? I'd see Sonnen winning a dec if he was to beat Hendo, I said in another thread, 5 rd fight, I'd pick Sonnen. | |

I never said you did, but finishing is one way to win a fight.

| I know everyone is saying that Sonnen is a poor man's Hendo of sorts, but is that really true? Hendo has never been known for his leg attacks (leg takedowns) and has always been known more for his clinch game/clinch takedowns. The problem with that when facing a guy like Anderson is that you have to get within punching range to clinch. This is partly why Hendo ran into trouble with Anderson (that and he thought he could strike with him). Chael on the other hand was an olympic alternate in Freestyle wrestling and has much more explosive leg attacks then Hendo. Shooting for a leg attack is generaly done just outside punching range but within kicking range. Where Hendo had to engage Anderson to take him down, Chael may not. Just something to think about. | |
