I didn't watch the video but I think it's definitely harder to defend it. As the challenger the pressure isn't as much on you as the champion to retain his title. Alot of times champions are considered the favorite to win the fight, and thus in a way the defender losing isn't such a big deal.

probably harder to win it.

Your going against the best guy in your division.
Not always the case when defending.

But I get the idea of picking defend since you have the bullseye on your back and you have more pressure to win.
