| Probably should have added Aldo. Technically only 3 defenses, but it'd be 5 if you added WEC too. Plus he's won every single fight easily while guys like Hughes and Anderson have struggled at times.

| I wouldn't say Anderson "struggled" except for the first fight with Chael. Everyone else has been made a total fool of. And don't bring up Maia winning a round or two after Anderson blew him out of the water for the first three and started dancing. Hendo is about the only guy besides Chael who actually gave Anderson a fight and he got foolish, dropped, and choked out.
I vote Anderson Silva. Anderson hasn't had the "oh my god Matt Serra did it!" moment during his stint in the UFC. Though he had one against Chonan, that was a very long time ago and much more flukish than Serra catching GSP behind the ear.

Anyone can get caught. How often does the champ get bested for 20+ min. Plus Anderson has by far the weakest division IMO. I haven't voted yet, but I'm torn between ll but Tito.

| Chuck or Anderson. Chuck because he fought the best competition there was, and when he won, he beat their ass. Then Anderson because he is undefeated. Not a fan of most of his competiton, but you still cant argue about an undefeated record.
None of that matters though because GSP still has 5 years left to continue his dominance, and Jon Jones is just getting started.

| The thing to remember here is that Anderson still found a way to finish Sonnen. Sonnen did better than anyone else in the last seven years against Anderson, and still couldn't get the job done. It seems like alot of people are giving real weight to Anderson having a busted rib or two for the entirety of that fight. I'm not going the "well Chael was on roids" because I don't honestly believe using TRT even to the point the tests show made him a better wrestler. But there is something to be said for the way Anderson moved during that fight compared to some of his other fights. | |

| i voted GSP, because of the quality of opposition he's faced and that none of them looked like they could beat him at any moment of any round.
he's so dominant it's become fucking boring.

| I voted Anderson. He has been dominate as hell and just because he had an off night against Chael doesnt mean he hasnt been the best for years. | |

| I voted for Anderson. Im not a fan of his, but you cant deny his dominant run as champion. He can only fight the guys who are in the division, so to say its a weak division, isn't all that important to me. Plus, he took out a former LHW champ as well. | |

| Randy kind of bounced around alot which hurts him on a poll like this.
He beat Maurice Smith for the Heavyweight title, then left the UFC for a time. He fights four times before coming back to beat Randleman for the belt, then beats Pedro twice and loses to Barnett who pops his piss test. Randy loses to Ricco Rodriguez for the vacant heavyweight title and then moves down to 205 for an instant shot at the interim belt and beats Chuck(thats 5 total title fights he won so far if we're counting interims) then Tito to unify the belts. I'll skip the first fight with Vitor because of the freakish TKO due to cut on the eyelid and go to the instant rematch. Randy defends the belt against Vitor, before losing it to Chuck. So with 7 title wins/defenses he loses in his next challenge for Chucks belt and goes back up to Heavyweight. There he upsets Tim Sylvia and beats Gonzaga to win and then defend the belt. Randy ends up a 9x champion but it's in two divisions and neither run was particularly dominant. He never really had the division on either end on lockdown like the guys above did at one time or another.

| Why isn't Royce Gracie on the list? I don't see anything specifying divisional champions? 3 time UFC tourney Champion. | |

| Royce would have been a good addition. He did go 8-1-1 all time in the UFC after winning the first tournament, and you could technically count those as title defenses.
Edit: He is on the list under "Other".

| At 9-6 in title fights, I don't consider Randy really to be dominant at all, just a top guy.
