| http://www.bloodyelbow.com/2011/7/8/2266369/antonio-rodrigo-big-nog-nogueira-on-dana-white-hes-not-a-godUFC President Dana White didn't wait very long to voice his opinion that Wanderlei Silva shouldn't fight again after Silva's KO loss to Chris Leben at UFC 132. That didn't sit very well with another Brazilian legend who's on the downward slope of his own career, Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira. Nogueira spoke to Brazil's R7 Esportes (translated by Tom Mendes): "I think he was unfortunate with his comments. They're idols of the sport, (Dana's) not a God who decides on everyone's career. I loved the fact that Tito Ortiz won his last fight. You see that these people were not champions for nothing. Ortiz, Wanderlei and Fedor were top fighters for a reason. But Dana White can't decide that, he'll have to eat his words regarding Tito (laughs)" Nogueira probably identifies with Silva, both fighters are all-time greats who are now in their mid-30s and have suffered a string of brutal KO losses. Nogueira was once known for his iron jaw, but has lost 2 of his last 3 via knock out. |

| Dana was speaking sense, nobody wants to see Wandi continue to get repeatedly knocked out. |

When you're no longer fit to fight it's time to retire. |

| It was his first fight in 18 months against a dangerous puncher in Leben. In his last fight he beat Bisping. |

He's 2-4 in the UFC since Pride and is now 35, why keep him around for more punishment ? Unless Wandi drastically changes his style and mentality I can see more scenarios like last week.

| Not if he fights people like Bisping and Santiago. If he gets ktfo again then yes but he deserves another chance. |

So basically you want to cherry pick Wandi's future fights with feather fisted guys, what's the point in that ? |

No legend deserves to be beat down and humiliated when they're well past their prime. The reality is Wandi will probably fight well into his forties like Shamrock |

| He was coming off a win against a very decent fighter in Bisping, his game plan to wade right into Leben's power was the deciding he factor, give the guy another shot before you just write him off, the two KO's he has suffered in his last few fights, those punches would've felled anyone, plus a long ass layoff, I like Noguiera speaking up and others should to, telling Chuck to hang it up was the right decision, Wandi still has some gas left. | |

| If wandy would have landed 1st he would have KOed Leben also so i dont put much into that KO because they basically threw punches at each other with deadly intentions and Leben was fortunate enough to land the huge shot first. | |

| Tito wasn't broken like Chuck was or like Wand is now. Its just a question of whether he's good enough to compete with the best. Wand has reached the point where I fully expect partial shots that land close to his chin to have him in a world of hurt in which case he just bum rushes forward and gets put unconscious

| Bisping has virtually no power in his punches, that win flattered Wnadi. |

| So what does it say about Bisping that he can't even beat an over the hill Wanderlei? |

It says he's got virtually no power in his punches. Hendo said Mike hits like bitch to his corner during their fight. |

DUUUUUUUUUHHHHHHHHHHHH You don't say. Then why do you keep bringing up Bisping's power up in relation to Wandy beating him? |

DUUUUUUUUUHHHHHHHHHHHH You don't say. Then why do you keep bringing up Bisping's power up in relation to Wandy beating him? Because Wandi was able to walkthrough Mike's pitter pats, close him down with pressure and trap him against the cage. I don't understand why you're clinging to this fight as if it holds some significance. Wandi is an old brawler who's battles have finally begun to take their toll on his body, best to walk away now before he severely damages his health. Stann, Munoz, Sonnen, Belcher, Akiyama, Belfort, Okami, Marquardt all brutalize Wandi at this stage in his career. |
