I think this has been said no less than eleventy nine times in the other thread, but the title shot must go to somebody. Should they just disband the LHW division because the top is relatively balanced and no clear #1 contender stands out?

| Rashad on a 2 fight win streak over Thiago and Rampage makes him the clear #1 when you compare to Rampage and Machida. Then Rampage is the clear #2 contender if he beats Hamill because it puts him on a 2 fight win streak over Machida and Hamill. | |

This. Right now it's- Champion: Jon Jones 1. Rashad Evans 2. Quinton Jackson 3. Lyoto Machida 4. Forrest Griffin 5. Mauricio Rua |

Sounds just like the last few champs
-Machida cannot be stopped. No one can touch him. No one will solve the Machida puzzle.
-Shogun is back. He's got great MT, BJJ, he's healthy, and he's still young. No way anyone beats him.
Everyone was on the Machida train, but I don't remember there being a similar Shogun train. I picked Bones to beat him myself.

| The knee injury tempered that train down. | |

| Yes, his most recent knee injury resulting in his most recent surgery, the one we found out about after the second Machida fight. | |

actually he had that injury goin into the second machida fight. not only that he was really out of shape and had just had appendecitice. the only 2 times he has even shown up in the best shape was against machida in their first bout and against jones.

| You knew that about his knee before, everybody? The real details emerged after the fight. Best shape against Jones? I don't think so. | |

franklin mcneil reported 2 days before his second match against machida that shoguns had suffered an injury on his knee. also on the jones/shogun countdown his own camp admitted he was injured goin into that fight. as far as best shape, ok maybe not but he was in way better shape than he was goin into his second machida macth. the best shape in his ufc career was in his first bout against machida though.

McNeils live news got picked up by no media at all so I don't get how this is some everybody knew shoguns knee was no good thing. Nobody had an idea of what was really happening with his knee until over a week after the fight. The train was not tempered going into and in the immediate aftermath of the second Machida fight at all, only when it was clear that he was going to be knifed again.

The train was not tempered going into and in the immediate aftermath of the second Machida fight at all, only when it was clear that he was going to be knifed again. im not really talking about the train. i like shogun and think he is a very dangerous fighter and one of the strongest strikers in the division but at the same time, even before his second match with machida, even before we knew about his knee or afterwards, i knew he was very beatable. the only way i saw shogun holding on to that title was if he came in to fight like the way he did agains machida the first time, patient, not as agreesive and smart. heck to date as long as he fights this way i think he has a chance at beating everyone not named jones but if he comes in fighting like his old pride self then theres a 50/50 chance he will win. the same shogun that ko'd machida was the same shogun that tapped out to forrest, only difference was machida was dumb for being agreesive and not fighting his fight and got ko'd when all he had to do was wether the storm before shogun finally tired out.

| I don't remember Shogun pushing some relentless pace in the 2nd Machida fight. He was certainly more aggressive but not to the point where Machida just had to wait out the storm because he was obviously going to gas | |

Not relentless pace but was alot more active. Still he was injured and out of shape and we have seen what has happened to that shogun before
