| Can't fault a guy for not wanting to move into a weight class he's too small for.
Anderson should offer a catch weight at 177.5. He once was a WW.

| Silva wants nothing to do w Jones who would probably need hangnail surgery if a bout w Cain loomed. In light of this - war Penn. Win or lose at least he tried. | |

| Anderson could handle Bones IMO, takedowns and top control would be a problem but never doubt the Spider, and Bones hasn't ever been hit by someone like Anderson. Been with Bones since his debut, and his talent is obvious, but he's starting to come off phony-ish.
Said a while ago Cain (if healthy) would put the heat on Bones, he hasn't fought someone who can stuff the takedown and get in on him on the feet, Cain lays him out IMO.

| Ali only complains about GSP not moving up weight. Anderson should move up permanently before GSP. |

Correction, I complain about not getting to see a mega fight. I've never declared that GSP needs to move up permanently. |

| Why should GSP move up? Why not a catchweight? |

| Catchweights are of no interest to me, I hate them in boxing. |

| I dont really care to see Spider vs GSP at all. I could really live without it just fine. Same with Spider vs Bones or Bones vs Cain. Just dont have a ton of interest in these guys moving up to get fucked up. | |

| Bones vs Cain makes no sense at all right now. Neither man has even defended their title, Bones should remain at 205lb for at least two years. |

| back to the original topic, the fight has no effect on my p4p rankings yet. But if Bones gets back out there and demolishes whomever he faces in a manner similar to his last couple fights, then I will move Bones ahead of GSP. And that is in part due to the Shields fight. so there is some lingering effect.
I've had Anderson #1, I keep him there, yes he has had some uninspired performances(though I for one am not as down on the Lietes fight as most), and yes he showed a wrestling weakness vs Sonnen, but he never loses, and when he is on, it's unlike any other fighter.

| I'm not mad with GSP either. What I want to know is how come none of GSP's opponents try to finish him, they are all so boring and tepid. | |

| Question still should be asked, How come Jake Shields, Josh Koscheck, Dan Hardy, etc.,. didn't try to finish GSP? Why are they so cautious and boring against GSP? | |

| Gsp could fight a bit more aggressively but it's easy to forget how bad he beat some of these guys. Fotch, Alves, Penn were all hamburger faced. He has dropped many of these guys with kicks and punches. Only a few of these matches were really boring. This thing has spun out of control. | |

yeah he drops them with kicks and punches and then he decides to do NOTHING after that!!! he has ZERO killer instinct and this is what everyones talking about. and i never said that he doesn't beat these guys, which he does a pretty good job at

| The answer to your question gdp is: because they can't. they are not able to.
Where as with GSP we all believe he is able, but he consistently plays it safe.
And vs Shields because of the eye, it almost cost him. Obvious gameplan was to keep it standing. Stay out of the one facet that makes Shields dangerous and that is his grappling/submissions. GSP showed himself up to the task in the wrestling dept, yet even with the eye, even with the apparent wrestling edge, he still would not take the fight to the mat. GSP would not go to his own bread and butter because he preferred to combat Shields' weakness.
Dude plays it uber safe, and it takes much of the excitement out of these fights.
