No need for parlor tricks, just setting up great matchups as always.

HW:
Brock vs JDS (Winner faces Cain at the end of the year)
Mir vs Nelson
Cro Cop vs Schaub
Carwin vs Nog (rumored 131)

Not to mention the other divisions

Frankie Edgar vs Gray Maynard III
Pettis gets next shot if he beat Guida.

For real? Man, Nog can't like getting his head beat in at this point, seems unnecessary

Well Nog did say he wanted to fight Brock in Rio. I guess Carwin is the next best thing.

I guess so. It would be crazy if he found a way to win although I give him less than a 5% chance realistically

I do not think this is a good match up for big Nog at this point in his storied career. He needs to fight grapplers who seldom punch.

Well Brock did sub him, so maybe Carwin gets tired after beating on Nog and Nog pulls off the sub in another classic Nog comeback. It could happen.

I'd rather see-

Brock vs JDS (Winner faces Cain at the end of the year)
Carwin vs Nelson
Mir vs Schaub
Cro Cop vs Big Nog II

Nog still has more life then people have been giving him credit for, I still firmly believe he can hang with multiple other top HWs, but agree a Carwin matchup would be tough. The Cain KO doesn't worry me, Cain hits very hard to say the least and is way too quick for Nog, but the Mir uppercuts still haunts me, I can only imagine what would happen with Carwin. I'd give Nog a chance at playing it smart and eventually getting Carwin on the ground where he could work his JJ, but that's easier said then done with an animal like Carwin.

The only thing with the tourney, which is great for us as fans, it destroys all the future title shots. Unless Overeem loses and you give him a rematch. Your basically giving all your best HW's a loss so how do you promote the next title shot?

Shane Del Rosario. His time is coming soon. You have 3 "reserve" fights, so 3 prospects coming off wins. You put those guys vs the other guys that did well in the tourny and BAM, title worthy challenger.

The next title fight after the GP is over will be some kind of warranted rematch I would think, there are too many scenarios for that to go down. Although Werdum or Reem winning out thins that angle a bit.

Also the losers of the quarters and semis will undoubtedly have a few fights amongst themselves and the SDR, Corimers and Johnsons of the Org. around and after the GP finals to set up future contenders.

SDR will be an injury replacement at some time. Which would make him the dark horse to win the whole thing. SDR> Rogers, AA, Sergei

The title is on the line the entire time so it generates title shots. And the losers in various fights will fight eachother afterward obviously. Then there are contenders like Del Rosario and Cormier waiting in the wings. The tournament can only generate shots.
