More Champs? Brock beat 1 Champ, Shane's Interim belt doesn't count. More higher ranked fighters at the time? Diego top 10, Karo top 10, Sherk top 10. Robbie and Fickett were either ranked or close to it at the time. Overall just a ton more skilled that Nick had to face...oh yeah I said he was 22 at the time right?

| Diego was fresh off winning TUF and wasn't top 10 at the time Sherk was Karo was Robbie and Ficket were not
He was 22 but hasn't faced the same level of comp since and same style of fighters.
Randy former Champ HW/LHW (Ranked top 5 at the time, think he was 3) Mir former and current Champ (Ranked top 5 at the time) Carwin (ranked top 10 maybe 5) Cain (Ranked top 10 maybe 5, best HW in the World and future) Herring (equates to some of the wins) JDS (ranked top 5 at the time)

| LA, you may be right, but you are dealing with Juvenile hatred for someone they have never met and has never done them any harm. You make a good point though. | |

| If you can get him to actually agree to a fight maybe he can! But we will never know because they may have a K-1/M-1/Sambo Tourney/steroid flap/etc. issue which will hold you and your organization hostage for 6-12 months... | |

| Some of you guys are ridiculous. To say he isn't qualified and that the contestants will have more skill is just ignorant. Again, Brocks's skill in wrestling is passed off as not that big a deal. If a bjj guy were there with the same level of accomplishment that Brock had in wrestling, you same people would be stroking yourselves at "how skilled he is" lol. The truth is, Brock can help them in wrestling and will have Comprido there for bjj and his boxing coach there for striking. Additionally, Brock was a champion and knows how to train. His fighters on TUF will learn from that.
Also, while I can completely see JDS beating Brock, some of you are not using your heads. To think JDS will run through him is to ignore the obvious stylistic differences. Brock couldn't keep Cain down, but was still able to take him down (Cain was a 2 time D1 AA). Brock is not going to stand with JDS. However, he wont bull rush him either. He will be patient, pick his spot, put him on the ground and work from there. While I can see JDS ko'ing him or tko'ing him, I think its more likely that Brock wins this via gnp. The hatred for Brock on here verges on ridiculous. Regardless of your hate for him, he is extremely skilled and a hell of an athlete....just not as skilled or athletic as Cain, but imo, nobody in heavyweight mma is. I think whoever wins this fight loses to Cain anyway.

LOL true....but...to deny the skill involved in double legging someone like Cain is absurd. Sure, he wasn't able to keep him down, but to think that any guy as strong as Brock could do the same thing is just flat out wrong. But I stand by my statement with regard to a bjj guy with the same level of accomplishment. You wouldnt be able to sleep at night thinking about "how skilled" he is lol jk.

| OU you say some stupid crap sometimes! What about Randy Couture? that SOB has stayed around and viable (not for much longer) because of his skill, not his power. Plus in the sport of modern MMA, wrestlers have been pummeling these masters of BJJ more often than not. | |

| This could be UFCs best business move in 2011, no, it is.
Brock obviously didn't come cheap for this, he has plenty of reasons to want to stay up north. But the price will prove worth it.
Brock's main function in the UFC is revenue. Him on TUF is gonna bring lots of that, viewers, sponsors etc.
I don't think JDS is a logical opponent for him at all, he is gonna get stopped again, but alas, that's not important because he is not in TUF against Frank Mir.
That third match will happen and it too will be a main event, because the truth is, Brock, no matter how many losses he gets will not be anything other than a headliner in the UFC. Why it continues to make hecka sense is because Brock has way better odds and likely will beat Mir, further ensuring that his next fight will be nothing other than a main event fight.
If he loses to Mir, expect Toney or some other MMA joke vs Brock in a main event.
Really though, this was the smartest thing the UFC could of done to exploit every dollar they could out of Brock.
Good for them. I prefer match ups that make sense myself, and not in the financial sense, but that's how a fan should think since I get none of that money.

La gran aventura de Mortadelo y Filemón
Spanish comedy
Those wacky Spaniards!
At first I thought it was Robert Duvall, then I thought it was Tom Towels(dick head dad with the bitten daughter form 1990 Night of the living dead). Wrong.

| How doesn't this matchup make sense? LOL
Champion sidelined for 6-8 months...
#1 contender and top 5 HW most places doesn't want to wait....
Lets give him the former Champ that just lost his belt, held the belt longer than most, and is still considered a top 5 HW most places.....

Yeah that is just my point. Randy would be a great coach, not just because of his experience, but because like you said he relies on skill and not strength. Thanks for proving my point. Brock is only 1-1 against "masters of BJJ"(giving Mir too much credit with that). Jimbo suggest that Brock can teach hard work and how to train but there are plenty of guys out there training just as hard or harder then Brock. I'm just being real, he doesn't offer much as a coach that others couldn't do better. He doesn't have much experience and is still fairly new to MMA. He is a good wrestler but it's not like you couldn't bring in a wrestling coach that would be even better.

| Most of the guys who have done the show have the guys they bring in do the heavy lifting anyway. I don't understand why this discussion is even being brought up. We're two seasons removed from a coach telling his top pick that he didn't have to do anything if he didn't want to LOL. Brock will be fine | |
