| http://sports.espn.go.com/dallas/ncf/news/story?id=5862368DALLAS -- TCU has accepted a bid to the Big East Conference, which will take effect July 1, 2012, according to sources familiar with the deal. The school has set a news conference for 1 p.m. on campus to make "a major announcement involving the TCU athletics program."A source confirmed the move to ESPN.com's Joe Schad Monday as well. The conference change allows TCU to play in an automatic BCS-qualifying league beginning in the 2012-13 school year. TCU currently plays in the Mountain West Conference, which does not have an automatic bid to the BCS and is going through some changes of its own. BYU and Utah are leaving the conference just as Boise State enters. TCU would become the Big East's ninth football team. The conference has extended an invitation to Villanova to become its 10th football member.TCU is 12-0 and ranked No. 3 in the BCS. The Frogs are at the very least headed to the Rose Bowl. But if Auburn or Oregon slip up this weekend, TCU is poised to play for a national title. The conference change is for all sports, meaning TCU enters a strong basketball league and should get exposure in more eastern sports markets. The league as a whole will now have 17 teams. | |

easiest automatic qualifying conference in football. I was about to say this. They picked the Big East because now they know that they are gonna be getting into a BCS bowl game virtually every year. You guys have to understand that its not just football though...and the Big East is one of the toughest basketball conferences there is...so there is that as well.

easiest automatic qualifying conference in football. For this year maybe. You act like the Big East is always the weakest BCS conference. Since we joined this is the only year we have that title as weakest BCS conference. We have been better than the Big Ten, Big 12, PAC 10, and the ACC some of the past seasons. Not all of them, but some of them. 2006 the Big East was 2nd behind the SEC only. The weakest BCS conference changes every year with the ACC, BEAST, and Big Ten usually as the bottom feeder.

Very, very rarely is the Big East above any BCS conference outside of the ACC. MOST years you are the worst or 2nd worse in football. You know this. Outside of those couple West Virgina and Louisville teams you usually don't have a true BCS worthy team.

| Not too mention the Big East went undefeated for two years in all bowl games since the CARDS joined. This won't be a cake walk for TCU next year. Pitt, WVU, UCONN, Cincy, CARDS, and USF have great teams coming back. It should be fun. I only wonder why a team from Texas is joining the Big EAST? They should have jumped in Nebraska's spot. That would've been awesome to see them get a crack at all those teams. | |

You guys face shitty teams in your bowl games more times than not. And if the Cowboys can be in the NFC East, why cant the TCU Horned Frogs be in the Big East?

I agree this won't be a cake walk in the Big East for them. I don't expect them to go undefeated anytime soon. But they should compete with the upper level guys.

The Big 10 is getting alot better, but the Big East has been just as good, if not better since the merger. 2006 was rediculous. Big 10 champ Ohio State got stomped by the Gators, when the CARDS could've beat them. Instead we had to play the ACC Champ and we stomped them. Every year our conference champion belongs in a BCS bowl.

Even if West Virgina does win the Big East some how they won't deserve a BCS bowl. Hell 5 teams in the Big 12 are better this season then them. This isn't the West Virgina that beat OU, this West Virgina is not very good. They are pretty much equal to Baylor.

| I see BBC is ignoring the fact that I made a pretty strong point about how Michigan...a team that went like 2-6 within the Big Ten Conference and finished 7-5...beat the FUCK outta one of their conference front runners in UConn. | |

WOW I thought they'd be men about it and join the Big 12 but I guess their ball size is lacking huh? They don't just get to join any conference they feel like. You seriously think Texas would let TCU into the Big 12? I highly doubt it
