Not sure how I feel about this one yet. BJ with another huge speed advantage and can definitely hurt Fitch but with the way he claims to get worn out when he has to use his ground game combined with the size and strength advantage of Fitch he could wear him down

No better way for the UFC to convert the legions of Penn haters than to have him go out there and destroy fuckin Jon Fitch.

this is going 3 rounds, but im confidant that BJ will take it. i dont know if fitch can be stopped though, maybe subbed but he'll take a beating

Im not going to go back into Penn Mania mode just cause Hughe's chin decided to stay home last nght. So I give Fitch a very legit shot here.

But I do like the matchup, and love that Penn is getting right back in the ring after an easy night's work. Wish more fighters would do(or were allowed to do) the same.

I've been saying it for a month that Penn-Hughes winner gets Fitch next.

Of coarse I must ask: Is Penn the most unpredictable fighter out there?

Or is it just me? I've gotten every fight wrong but one(diego) since his 2nd fight with GSP.

He is the most unpredictable. If he wants it he's basically unbeatable when he doesn't he's awful.

I'm not surprised Penn fans are pumped after last night, but I'm not really sure Penn catching Hughes and finishing him 20 seconds into a fight really answers the main questions we have about him. This is really close to a 50-50 fight to me

Fitch is the favorite in my books.

Agreed. If BJ from 123 is at that fight he will end it the same way. Maybe not as quick, but Fitch will get KTFO

The KO and the clearifcation of BJ's dominance of Hughes shouldn't blind anyone to BJ's faults. But let it be known with a gas tank and motovation BJ Penn can contend for the WW title again. BJ has some of the best takedown defense in mma history, GSP didn't take BJ down in their second fight untill BJ gassed, and so began the biggest beatdown BJ was ever handed. But untill that point GSP couldn't get BJ down.

The BJ that fought last night will defend Fitch's takedowns and put him away, but will his personal life, training camp, or just overall things in his life remain in a way that keeps him motovated? Thats the question. BJ says in his book that the belt is just an accessory, I think he ment to him the LW belt was an accessory and doesn't mean as much to him as trying to get that win over GSP imo

BJ can def out-strike Alves, but the key word is can. Doesn't mean he will. I think a motovated BJ beats Thiago but that doesn't mean he has to out-strike him.
