| I don't mean to be a wet blanket but Penn only caught a 37 year old man cold, it's not like he crushed a prime welterweight. |

| To be completely fair in the analysis of this fight, all Penn did was land a power punch and some ground and pound to a rocked fighter. His entire skillset can't be evaluated based on that, can it? | |

In that case Alves's signature KO of his career don't mean shit either.

| He struggled with Serra, Gracie was 43 and hadn't fought in three years, I'll give him credit for the Almedia win that was impressive. |

| The big question here is if Fitch does happen to win here, has he finally earned a title shot in the eyes of the UFC? | |

| Beating Serra isn't a good win by virtue of itself? | |

| Everyone struggles with Serra because of his skillset except GSP the second time. Gracie may have been 43 but the way Hughes won was what made it impressive. | |

| Serra landed a record number of strikes in that fight. That was an epic struggle. | |

I don't know about this Wolf. Is there supposed to be any question about BJ Penn's overall skillset? He's been around for a long time and evaluations are in...he's always been the full package and still is.

He also got rocked himself a few times for his troubles. That first and second round were intense on both sides. The third is where Lytle foud his range and timing and really lit Serra up. But for Lytle almost every fight is a struggle because of his style of slugfest fighting, if it's not a struggle he doesn't want to be a part of it.

BJ can def out-strike Alves, but the key word is can. Doesn't mean he will. I think a motovated BJ beats Thiago but that doesn't mean he has to out-strike him. My point is that Fitch DID outstrike Alves. Of course, he also grappled the hell out of him, as well. But Jon Fitch will by far be the toughest opponent Penn's ever faced, and by far the second best opponent he's ever faced.

Check my past posts I'm a Fitch fan I know this will be the toughest test outside of GSP. But that's what I want. If BJ can finish Fitch GSP will be looking for the first bathtub available to start his greese prep for the greatest rubbermatch in mma history.

| lol at those who think bjs destruction of hughes give him a chance against fitch. hughes was on the decline the second gsp fight. a primed hughes would of finished serra, a primed hughes would of put gracie away in the second maybe even first. props to him on the almeida fight but almeida has shown a weak chin in the past and if they were to fight 3 more times after their last match i'd pick ricardo any day. dont get me wrong, penn destroyed hughes and beat him alot quicker than i expected him to but fitch is probably on the level hughes was back in late 05 early 06 minus the submission but a better striker. bj didnt fear matts takedowns for he knew matt didnt have the same stregnth he once did there fore let his hands go. it will be a different story with fitch and thus wont let his hands got wich will equal too him getting grounded for 3 rounds | |

LOL at those who think everyone is only giving BJ a chance against Fitch because of this KO of Hughes.

Do you even think before you post like this? Fitch is a pretty shitty striker all around. He outstruck Alves in a fight where Alves looked like shit from bell to bell and got himself grapplefucked like everyone else at 170 has save for GSP. When was the last time Fitch truly outstruck anyone? Mike Pierce was ringing his bell until Fitch took his back. What is this shit about BJ not fearing the takedown because Hughes isn't as strong as he used to be? The fight lasted 21 seconds! We don't know anything about the fight other than BJ was able to get up in a big way for the biggest rivalry of his career.
