Jon Jones vs King Mo

Who is better right now?

Their records are similar so far into their careers, with Jones having more wins but Mo having a top ten opponent. Mo has the better wrestling background and a nearly unblockable double leg, while Jones has good wrestling himself and a tremendous frame built for takedowns, trips and throws like no fighter I've seen. Mo has the better boxing and KO power while Jones has the longer reach(84 to 78 inches) and a more unpredictable, varied standup game.

Jon Jones. He's the new and improved Anderson Silva. Give him 2-3 years and he'll be the biggest MMA star ever.

in terms of "prospect" its bones hands down ..

I would probably pick mo at the moment due to his wrestling but wouldnt be the slightest surprised if bones won .. and I would actually be hoping for that.

Well, to be fair to Mo here, he won't be 30 until 2011.

I am gonna go with Jones. Jackson will be wary of the double leg attack and plan a counter to win the fight. Though I think it would be a good fight.

I voted toss up. I'm more impressed with Mo's boxing and of course his wrestling. Mo has been very dominant without the luxury of being able to legally throw an elbow to a grounded opponent unlike Bones.

Jones. He has the nastier ground and pound easily. He just needs to develop a more crisp striking game and work on submission defense/offensive posturing

The one thing that makes it nastier Mo can't even do. So the comparisons are less than fair, although without Bones long arms I doubt he'd have elbows that vicious. Jones has one punch KO's against some of the no-names he fought in small shows(most of which apparenly were never taped) but has yet to show strong punching KO ability from any position standing or grounded in the UFC...yet anyway. Mo certainly has from all positions.

If any person can match Bones raw athleticism/wrestling blend it's Mo. All fairness to Hamill, Vera and Matyushenko but they've never been known for being explosive or athletic.

I think Mos ceiling is higher simply cause he has A+ wrestling perhaps only rivaled by Askren in MMA and he has a shit load to learn

Bones has a ceiling but Mos is bigger, hence me picking him as being a better prospect

King Mo will have a more immediate impact because the UFC is still hesitant on unleashing Bones.. but if were talking 2-3 years down the road.. man i only see upside for Bones! the main guys will b passing there prime or in itt while hes becoming a superstar well before it!

People are talking in 3-4 years like Mo will be old. He isn't even 30 yet.

no he wont be old but he is 6-7 yrs older then Bones which is alot in the fight game.. jus think this in 5 years Mo will b 34 and Bones will be 28! entering his prime..im jus afraid to see wat kinf of a beast hes going to b by then

yeah, Mo aint old, but Bones is incredibly young.

Mo however has been training for MMA for several years before he started fighting. Which is probably why he seems so ahead of the curve skillwise.
