| Titles that change hands unofficially when someone loses but doesn't lose his title.
Examples ;
Couture being UFC champion losing to Valentijn Overeem who then loses to Big Nog who later suffers his next loss to Fedor.
Thus Fedor holds the lineal UFC title dating back to that time. Thus Fedor is and always has been the undisputed MMA HW champion.
Another example would be Pat Miletich being UFC champion, while losing to Nakao, who loses to Kato who loses to "Mach" who loses to Anderson Silva who never loses the lineal title, and moves on to middle weight. Had that Anderson Silva-Matt Hughes match been made, it would have been Hughes that in essense was the real challenger.
Any other examples?
(can you see why Zuffa won't let it's best fighters fight outside the UFC now?)

(can you see why Zuffa won't let it's best fighters fight outside the UFC now?) This argument may have had some legs three years ago, but technically speaking Werdum is the lineal champ. Plus I can't see why someone would continue harping on a subject they just blogged about last month. Just let it go my friend. The reality of the actual situation is this, with the only possibility of the SF HW Champion being equal or better than the UFC HW Champion, no one with an ounce of common sense thinks Diaz is GSP's equal. In fact none of anyone elses champions is the equals with the arguable one exception. Lineal doesn't mean shit except to people living in Mom's basement and masturbating to the National Geographic.

(can you see why Zuffa won't let it's best fighters fight outside the UFC now?) Hate to be a dick but Randy really beat Maurice Smith, then went and lost to Enson Inoue , who then lost the title (lineal) to Mark Kerr, who then lost to Kaz Fujita, who then lost to MARK COLEMAN, who then lost to Big Nog, who then lost to Fedor. SO same results just a different order.

| Details, details. The lineal Champion is Werdum now. Even though it's a non-title fight I still consider it a title unification fight with him a Reem. The winner has a rightful claim to the true HW Championship in MMA. | |
