Welcome back! Going the Olympic route on some of these I see.

thanks marble..like you pointed out today there is some excelent talent around especialy from 147 on down..dumping many divisions will make a strong fly class and bantam.the feathers today are deep and will get deeper.the 140 lb class is truly for guys who cant make 135 anymore but 140 is there comfort zone on a same day weight in..some of the 140s will go to welter making that a top class and dump the 154 should improve the middles and with only 1 champ per division then fighters are forced to fight 4 or 5 times a year instead of laying back for a phoney trinket shot..you want a title shot then fight and earn it..lets hope sanity prevails to begin progress in this..good thread marble.

i seriously think that us as the ninja message board would be awesome at running boxing. but maybe once we started seeing the dollar signs we would change our minds too and just keep the money.

At least two things. A complete dicsonnect from the sport's past with zero gain for doing so and that there is an abundance of good fighters under 125 who are also under say 115. In short it is imposing a new and utterly arbitrary standard for no good reason.
