So you wanna talk college football conference prestige eh?

Did a little research today and looked up how many National Championships each team from each of the major conferences has won and totalled up everything for each conference...the results MAY just shock some of you! I will give a breakdown from each conference as well but here goes IN ORDER OF MOST TITLES!:

(This is regardless of where the teams were conference wise when they won...just totalled up as a whole)

Big 10 im not to surprised. We have been acouple years now but we will be back.

yeah Tim, but alot of people seem to think that historically speaking, the Big Ten isnt that good of a conference.

I agree though, give the conference a couple more years and they'll be adding more on...i think Pryor gives the Bucks another title before he goes to the NFL.

Its pretty much whatever peoples favorite conference are is the 1 they will say are the best but I think the big 10 has been a great power conference. They have a ton of pros and every year there is a team or 2 vying for the national title.

USC at 11 baby!!!.. Big Ten has alot of prestige but were here in the now and rite now im sorry to say but the conference is weak!(in respect im comparing to years before this in the Big ten)

The Big Ten is still the 3rd strongest conference, regardless of bowl records. The Pac-10 is weak IMO...only other good teams other than USC is Cal and Oregon.

we didnt have any teams go 0-12 last year ala Washington

AND we still had like 8 or 9 bowl eligible teams last season..no other conference had as many.

Yeah, not to mention the Big Ten teams always gotta travel to the other team's backyards for the bowl games. you dont see any of them pricks travelling up north to play in bowl games. i think that would make the results of bowl games go more into the favor of the Big Ten.

I am a little concerned that the SEC in five years will be on top all time. Let's not forget though, that even though they were handily beaten, Ohio did compete for two national championships in a row recently.

SEC taking the top spot or not, I think a Big Ten team wins a title in the next five or six years regardless.

Wolf good point but as much as I hate to admit it cause Im a die hard Michigan fan but Ohio State with Pryor at QB may win 1 in the next season or 2. They are very talented.

The Big 10 has been not that good for a while now. Histroically, of course, they have been good, but that doesn't mean much when we talk about who is who now.

At this point the Big 10 is in a distant 3rd at best (Pac 10 and ACC have an arguement too) when it comes to conference rankings with the SEC being #1 and the Big XII being #2.

The fact they're still in title games should be indicative of a conference that can still compete.


The Big Ten will return, but I am not sure Notre Dame ever will.

The fact they are in title games and then get blown show me that they got those wins by beating weak teams from an overrated conference that year.

I don't see things getting better for the Big 10 this year either. I'd take PSU or tOSU to finish 4th in the Big XII(actually 4th in the Big XII South) and 3rd in the SEC.

The only people that think this is an excuse are the people that are from the south where the bowl games are played. Come on, get real. Football isnt supposed to be played in the tropics...football originated from this area and should be played out like so IMO

I can see how it might marginally help but look how shitty that record is. tOSU has proven they are not in the league with the top Big XII, SEC, and Pac 10 (USC) the last several years. I'm not saying they're not good, but the numbers speak for themselves.

Its ok....let us keep that underdog roll...let ppl keep doubting us...but mark my words...that is gonna light a fire under this team's ass and pretty soon they're gonna start hittin people in the mouth...and you can quote me on saying Terrelle Pryor WILL win us a National Championship.
