| http://www.eastsideboxing.com/news.php?p=25133&more=1Multiple sources in Mexico are reporting that Saul "Canelo" Alvarez's handlers will make another run to secure welterweight contender Matthew Hatton as an opponent. Alvarez has a date set aside for his next fight, December 4, and Cancun, Mexico has been mentioned as a possible location for the contest. Golden Boy Promotions tried to make Alvarez-Hatton earlier this year as a co-feature contest for the Floyd Mayweather-Shane Mosley pay-per-view in May. They were unable to reach a deal. Alvarez has extended his promotional agreement with Golden Boy. Details have not been revealed by Golden Boy, but sources in Mexico report the new deal is a three-year and/or ten fight deal, with a 30% monetary increase from the contract he signed earlier this year, and there are numerous incentives based on performance. http://www.boxingscene.com/?m=show&id=31140

| Mosley is still too dangerous for Canelo. Canelo has some serious skill, he just need more fights against solid competition. If I'm GBP, I'd stick him with another durable feather fisted fighter like Collazo. By next year, he could take on Berto. Call me crazy but he can probably take him right now. | |

| Collazo be nice to see, but I think he said he's enjoying being inactive and moving up to 154 whenever he returns
If he's serious to fight at 147, take on someone like Randall Bailey, one of those strap holders, or Sebastian Lujan

If he's serious to fight at 147, take on someone like Randall Bailey, one of those strap holders, or Sebastian Lujan I see images of Victor Ortiz and Danny Jacobs here for some reason. Golden Boy can't afford to lose another prospect to a KO. Oscar De La Shaeffer will probably pit him against another faded less dangerous opponent. Bailey fits the mold I just think he's unattractive because of his power.

| Bailey also has a shaky chin, credible vet, but I think your right and they avoid him
Wonder who they get, has to be name? Not much at welterweight

| Alfonso Gomez isnt a bad selction, and I highly doubt Arum would get in the way of making Gomez some good money with fighting Canelo. Gome is as average as it gets, but his name is quite known.
By the way our very own gomez1012 is the former "Contender" reality TV star Alfonso Gomez, weird right?

| How bout Zab Judah? I know he wants to fight at 140 but with how things are shaping up i dont think he's gonna get a big fight at jr welter until late next year. | |

| Doubt Zab fights him.
Most likely he stays busy, probably against GBP bums/washed up names, all leading to Mosely at Cinco de Mayo weekend (assuming Floyd-Manny isn't happening, or Floyd vs. Aryan Brotherhood/La Eme can't be arranged in the Nevada state prison)

| Zab is at 140 and is there to stay. He fits there a lot better size-wise than at 147. Alvarez is quite a bit bigger than Zab.
GBP will be very gradual in matching up Canelo. Somehow, this dude became the top draw in Mexico even though there are a lot better and more accomplished fighters than him. GBP knows this and will want to avoid a Ortiz/Jacobs situation.

| Canelo's fight might end up on HBO.
@danrafaelespn Now this part is my conjecture: With no HBO PPV 12/4 I think it could pave way for Saul Alvarez's fight that night in Cancun to be on HBO |

Again a big risk for a prospect but Golden Boy is good for that.

Again a big risk for a prospect but Golden Boy is good for that. Well he was rocked by Miguel Cotto's bantamweight brother. |

Again a big risk for a prospect but Golden Boy is good for that. Well he was rocked by Miguel Cotto's bantamweight brother. He weathered it and scored a KO. Hatton is about the same risk I guess. He can be a bit chinny but he's been on a roll the last two years. He also doesn't have much power. Gatekeeper and a name with a small risk. I can see why they want this fight, I would just wait if i were them.

| People sure do make a lot of hitting hit once in fight lol
Made a mistake, corrected it, came back to score a KO
I think M Hatton gets beat up bad, but Idk if HBO accepts a fight like that as a main event for BAD or WCB
Sounds like it will be regular HBO since Top Rank is doing their Chavez/Nonito PPV that day
