Brock vs Carwin at 106

Apparently the bout with Cain has been scrapped.

Sources close to the event have confirmed to MMAMadness.com that Brock Lesnar will make his first official title defense against Shane Carwin at UFC 106 on November 21 at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, NV.

Shane Carwin had been scheduled to take on AKA fighter Cain Velasquez in October at UFC 104. But the UFC has opted to change course. Velasquez is reportedly uninjured and his management, Zinkin Entertainment, has not heard any news regarding the bout being scratched.

Minnesota MMA confirmed our sources by tweeting the news Wednesday night.

UFC 106 takes place November 21 at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas NV.

Smart move by UFC.

I thought it was bad business to put your two undefeated up and comers in a fight against eachother. You get Carwin vs. Brock while Carwin is still undefeated. I think Carwin is the more ready of the two since he's got the size, strength, wrestling, and striking to be a scary matchup for Brock. Maybe with the news of Gilbert Yvel coming to UFC, there is a huge test for Cain.

Im rooting for Carwin, though im not picking him.

Hmmm, I think they're throwing Carwin in with Brock before he's ready. Carwin really hasn't been tested except when he took a couple shots from Napao, I think a #1 contendor match with Cain would've been the best bet for now. Let the winner of Randy/Nog have a shot at Brock for now.

Oh well. Hopefully Carwin has what it takes.

That's gay Carwin hasn't earned a title shot IMO plus I was really looking forward to the Velasquez fight.

I like it. I would rather both guys fight Brock while they are undefeated.

I like it, it's not like Brock is some experienced vet or anything. Carwin should be fine. I think he will put up a great fight, I'm just worried about Brock's speed.

Want a great 104 card now? Put BJ and Diego in there. I'd really like to see that happen but the UFC is too fucking stingy with their draws. Anything to sell another ppv.

But Brock didn't earn his title fight either so I'm cool with it.

In regards to Carwin not being ready, I feel that Brock might be progressing faster then Carwin anyway, so might as well get it on now.

Well its better for Carwin cause with every fight Lesnar gets better. The best think is for these guys to fight Brock now cause in a year or so he is gonna be even better. I think sometimes people get so caught up in the Brock bashing they actually forget this guy can fight.
