who???? When I was living in London in the early 1990's he was England's greatest soccer player. The Gazza he was called. I have no idea what he did to earn that reference though.

| Whether this story is true or not, Hatton needs to get himself together. Drinking and drugs is a path to nowhere.
The whole point of a sports career is two fold: 1-achieve everything you can doing a sport you love- Ricky did that; 2-become financially secure if you can- Ricky did that.
Stay away from the sport and find activities to fill your time. For me, nailing his girl, promoting (which Hatton does some of), counting my millions, watching Manchester City, and watching boxing would fill my time.

Gazza got famous for being a fat, washed up bum who got into pub fights as his career went down the crapper in the mid-90s. Prime example of great potential wasted by lack of discipline. When I was living in Ireland in the late 90s he was in the tabloids seemingly every week. As for Ricky, it's pretty sad all around. Can't believe cocaine made that big of a come back. It's all over the place now. People have short memories, I guess.

| I'd like to know how Ricky let this bum knock him out. Roberto Duran used to slap around big guys like they were flies. So did Ray Leonard. Even Oscar De La Hoya had a boxing match with Shaquel O'Neal and didn't have a problem. I don't know if I believe this, but if it's true, Ricky has really hit rock bottom. Cocaine, drinking, those are things for a rehab center. Representing the "Sweet Science" by getting knocked out in public? Makes me ashamed to be a boxing fan. Body builders are not known to be great figthers. Rick needs a new bar room brawl trainer or something in his life to at least find himself again. | |

I dunno man, that's why they have weight classes in boxing. You can't expect a little 5'7 dude to take a shot from a 300lb. juice monkey and not get hurt. It's not as if Hatton was a defensive genius in the ring or anything, and who knows what happens in a bar fight - could have been a sucker punch he never saw. Either way, Ricky is pretty clearly at rock bottom, that's for sure.

Either way, Ricky is pretty clearly at rock bottom, that's for sure. I was an amateur body builder at one time and benched twice my weight. I was the smallest guy at the gym I belonged to and everyone in our circle could lift twice their body weight. I was only 150 but benched 300. Honestly, there's nothing a strong guy fears more than a slim, elusive counterpuncher that can hit him with 10 blows before he even knows he's in a fight. All the bigger guys told the same story. Guys their size were nothing. The lanky, 6 ft. 150 pounders were dangerous if they knew what they were doing. Just a thought. (Most of these stories came from guys trying to make it through the "Police Academy." )

But since when is Hatton "slim, elusive" or a 6-footer? Obviously being fat, drunk and clucked on coke aren't helping his chances either. Gotta hope Ricky is embarassed enough by all this to turn his life around.

| I feel embarassed for Ricky. Hes a world class professional fighter and it sickens me that he let himself get knocked out by some random chump in a pub. I really hope he can turn things around. | |

| I've heard different versions of this rumor, that it was a pinball machine or whatever. It sounds like he got sucker punched by a fag who is going to now claim to everyone he KO'd Hatton.
I hope Hatton takes his ass into the ally this weekend at this pup and breaks this guys nose.

| Anyone can get dropped. If the guy was a strong 300 lbs and landed a clean punch on Ricky, he's lucky nothing worse came of it and it ended in one punch.
The real issue is what has Ricky been doing with his life since he retired.
Any Brits have anymore info? |

| When you're hammered drunk you are already half way to being unconscious. If you get punched in the face while you're hammered drunk....well....you all know the rest. The problem for Ricky is lifestyle. | |

| BTW this was before Ricky checked into rehab.
He's 5'6 and full of booze and cocaine, I am not surprised a body builder knocked him unconscious. |

| I would guess: 1-Ricky is hammered 2-it seems like a normal guy's argument 3-the guy hammers Ricky before he even begins to comprehend that a fight is coming

| I don't really care why it happened or if it was a sucker punch, Ricky needs to sort his life out, hopefully the rehab works. |
