| When he said Leites and the "Barncat" would be staying with the promotion after word leaked of their release, and then he had to say no they were leaving after discussing it with the rest of the UFC Management. I think the guy is a great promoter of the sport, but I think Lorenzo is slowly streamlining the power structure which is going to have more rigidity than Dana is used to. | |

| He's really not losing any power Ferttita is just much more involved now than he was. In all reality Dana is the "president" but all huge decisions have and will always go through Fertitta. I guess you could argue he's losing power but too me this is more of a case that Fertitta has started putting a lot of his plans in motion. For example the recent UFC expansion to other countries over the last couple years is because of Fertitta. Also people get upset with Dana because they think he's the main reason that Fedor didn't sign. What people don't seem to realize is that Fertitta came out with statements before affliction even folded stating that Fedor was that important in the grand scheme of things. Dana is a fan Fertitta is a businessman. He's the one I garauntee you that said M-1 could go fuck themselves not Dana. Fertitta has been the guy behind the curtain for years now he's becoming more visible. | |

Thanks but it's definitely something people don't think about a lot. Dana takes all the heat when in reality he's just the face of the Org. not the actual decision maker the majority of the time.

| You think Dana is just "the hammer", the "bad cop" to Fertitta's good cop? | |

Pretty much yes. He's great at stirring things up and getting the ufc in the news for good or bad.

| I think all of you have blown things out of proportion. Dana White is a big fan of the UFC, much like all of you, and when he heard about them being released he reacted much like you have. Later, someone explained to him the situation whatever it was, and allowing the businessman in him take over, he accepted it. The UFC only puts on roughly 40 fights at each weight class each year, the are plenty of fighters that can fill this need. With the exception of a prominent few, the recent UFC signings should show you that the talent pool available to them extends beyond their actual roster. | |

| Nice work combat! I wrote this right before I left work yesterday, got up and you have handled it beautifully! I think you are right and Lorenzo pulled the plug on the Fedor deal, which was absolutely the right thing to do. I think it won't be much longer when IMHO that Scott realizes he overeached in a deal with M-1 and sells SF to Zuffa. I actually like both organizations and think Coker is a smart and passionate business man, but he like DW needs to be told no once in a while. But I still think Zuffa has plans with the Pride FC brand, besides showing classics on Spike and if they get a hold of Strikeforce, that will give them the 2nd tier promotion they need to place fighters who have names, but aren't getting it done right now. | |
