| The UFC has given Florian the royal treatment, ergo every chance in the world to win a title, and he failed. That is precisely what inspired Dana's comments. | |

| It's not like Kenny has been gift wrapped title shots out of thin air, he's earned them by defeating Lightweight contenders. |

| Florian beat no one in the top ten either time in route to his shot. LA for all his faults was always the loudest voice in the room when it came to Florian being fed easier fights.
In fact Florian has no wins over any world ranked opponents at the time of the bout in his entire career. No top ten wins. None.

| He got a shot after one bout in the division to face Sherk. When that didn't work he got a steady diet of undercarders and TUF'rs until he fought a few names with top 8-15 talent, but he never beat a true contender in their prime. Not once. Old Din Thomas' and Gomi's don't count. | |

| Beating Huerta,Guida and Stevenson isn't something to to turn your nose up at, those are good wins.
It still doesn't make Dana's comments right, losing to BJ and Sherk are nothing to be ashamed about and Maynard's wrestling was always going to be difficult to deal with. |

| They were good wins, but you've gotta beat a top guy to get a shot... and he already had 2 shots to take the belt and got worked! | |

Dana's comments are right, now should he have said it is a different issue. But Dana has treated Kenny very, very nicely. You calling for him to leave the UFC over it would be a huge overreaction toward a company that has treated him very well over the years.

That's why Kenny had to go through Maynard in order to get another one. Cain Valezquez isn't exactly walking around with loads of top guys on his resume. |

Cain Valezquez isn't exactly walking around with loads of top guys on his resume. Cain also doesn't have 2 title shots to his name already. Cain had to beat Nog before he got his title shot, a legit top 5 guy at the time of the win. Maynard was Kenny's first true "#1 contender" fight and you saw what happened there.

| Kenny lost to the man who owns a win over the current Lightweight champion, I don't see how that's choking. |

| He's 0/2 in tittle fights, and he lost a #1 contenders fight, he lost the tough finale... whenever there is pressure to be #1 he chokes | |

| I'm not saying that KenFlos a bad fighter, he's still top 10 if not top 5, but Dana was right... IMO | |

Kenny Florian's hands are unbelievable, Kenny Florian's ground is unbelievable, Kenny Florian usually kicks you to the body and the legs so hard that he busts guys up. You didn't see any of that tonight."
Per Dana White, and I feel the same.

The point is in those fights with Penn and Maynard, Kenny changed his game 100% because he was afraid of his opponents strengths. He tries to out-think the game way too much since one of his strength is supposed to be fight analysis. I see Kenny getting someone outside the top 10 in his next fight and he likely runs them over. Maybe he gets the winner of Guillard-Stevens as a win over him for the victor would continue to launch them big time

| Cain is actually quite like where Kenny was when he got his initial title fight against Sean Sherk. When the division was thin and void of wealth of contenders. Kind of like how HW had been. Ben Rothwell was arguably a top ten win and Nog absolutely was at the time coming off a good performance against Couture. Kenny has no top ten wins.
If Cain loses to Lesnar and gets a shot down the line without fighting any other top ten guys, then we could compare em.

| Depending on how you source it. Sherdog, generally considered the leading ranking site, had him in the top ten on and off over the last three years until he lost to Cain. I said arguably anyway and personally I don't think he was really top ten at the time. | |
