| I took Lawler because he was getting destroyed by leg kicks and punches and landed a great shot to end the fight. | |

| I went Silva, dude was getting beat for 4 and 1/2 rnds, Chael had him on his back yet again, and Silva had shown very little to that point in terms of threatening Chael, or an ability to get up off his back.
Again the importance of the fight plays a role imo.

| Smith over Cung easily. He was beaten half to death and he looked like he wasn't even a fighter. | |

| I voted for Lesnar but I maybe should have voted Silva. Problem with Anderson's comeback is that was how it was eventually supposed to happen(getting knocked on his ass by a wrestler wasn't part of the deal though...)
If I could change my vote hell I'd pick Russow over Duffee because holy shit who saw that coming?

| Smith over Cung loses luster because Smith was stupid enough to accept a rematch. | |

Not only was it one sided, it was a kung fu clinic. I was shocked.

| Lesnar over Carwin. No1 else besides a prime Nogueira could've came back from that. The whole Anderson fight I kept saying why isn't he trying to go for a triangle, so I wasn't that surprised. |

| It's easily Silva-Sonnen. Lesnar got beat up for a round and his opponent ran out of gas. You knew what as going to happen as soon as Lesnar took him down and Carwin just put his arm up and said "stick a fork in me".
Silva got beat up for 4 and 1/2 rounds and his opponent didnt wear down for a second...it was just a big time finish by a big time fighter.
You kind of knew Carwin missed his big shot once Lesnar got the fight back up to the feet and he was clearly tired....in Silva-Sonnen, for 4 and 1/2 rounds it looked like Silva had no answer for Chael Sonnen...not even on the feet where everybody was sure Silva would dominate and his submission game was non-existant until the finish.
I'm sorry, at the risk of sounding like an arrogant bastard anybody who picks Lesnar comeback is being a complete nuthugger IMO. I would pick it second consdiering Carwin's punching power but Silva's win was far more "He pulled it off!" consider he was only 2 minutes away from losing a clean sweep decision. It's like Jordan hitting a game winner. It's like Brett Favre touchdown pass against my Niners last season. Lesnar on the other hand, surived a flurry and then by the time the second round came about Carwin was not even half the fighter that Lesnar survived in the first because of fatigue.

| That's kind of suprising....maybe not everybody i guess.
Fact is...Carwin easily won the first round against Lesnar but in between the first and second rounds...you can tell it was a race against the clock for Carwin and not Lesnar. I knew Carwin was doomed.
Anderson on the other hand looked tired, beaten, he looked to have no answer for Sonnen and he only had 2-3 minutes to finish the fight..he had to FINISH the fight in a couple minutes when he had mounted almost NO OFFENSE for 22 minutes. I say Silva vs. Sonnen was Lesnar-Carwin x4. Because instead of 1 round of the champ getting destroyed, it was 4 and a half rounds. Silva was getting hit with clean punches, open hand slaps to his ears, he was getting slammed and he had Sonnen, an olympic wrestler riding him for over 20 minutes. That is probably the most grueling thing about last nights fight for Silva...in BJJ, if i get dominated by a black belt for a 8 minute round and he has me on my back the entire time...i'm ready to vomit at the end of that round depending on how much activity he is doing on top and how much he's making me fight off tranisitions and submissions . Rogan pointed this out...Silva was trying to push an immovable object pressing on him with full force the entire fight. Silva probably didnt even bother getting out of bed today.

| I went with Lesnar. Though the list was impressive and well thought out. I thought that dude was gonna get KTFO in the first few moments of watching it. I was waiting for Rosenthal to call it and just hand the belt to Carwin. Apparently, Lesnar's eyes never went blank or rolled over, he kept following instructions and recovered. When he came out for the second, Carwin winked at him and Lesnar was ready to get it on. | |

| There is all that, Kings. But Lesnar handed Carwin his first loss ever after that beating. Silva subbed Sonnen for the eighth time in his career that way. There's more "wow" factor to beating a guy who is undefeated when you have no known submission skills as opposed to submitting a guy who has had most of his losses that way and your known as a highly competant ground fighter. | |
