| the reaction by the ref and fighter HAS to be fast..again taylor had 4 good seconds as steele was in his face looking at taylor to nod yes im ok even before hes asked..asked twice no reaction from taylor.thats a forgone conclution then for the ref to halt the fight.how much time does taylor need..to keep asking r u ok or to allow several more seconds to go by in a fight that has a knockdown opens a ref to critisism you gave fighter A lots of time to recoup..if a fighter dont respond quick its the refs duty to say thats it....you ceratnly dont take 6 seconds to try to avoid a punch do you.. | |

| also note no reaction in a agressive verbal way by taylor to dispute the stopage..this supports steele again for taylors mental status and brain is scrambled. | |

| I find most that disagree with the stoppage simply can't get past the emotional aspect of the whole situation. The emotion that somehow Meldrick was screwed is a hard one to rid yourself of.
Like I've said before it took me years to get past it and come to the conclusion that Steele did the right thing.
It wasn't the popular thing.
It wasn't the feel-good thing.
It wasn't the storybook ending thing.
But it was the right thing.
He did his due diligence as referee to protect the fighters AT ALL TIMES. | |

| I give Steele the benefit of the doubt, i'm not saying he necessarily did the right thing, but I buy his explanation and in the heat of the moment, his actions to protect the fighter were at least understandable. | |
