Shields should win, if Kampmann doesn't sprawl and brawl him to death. That Technical striking is a killer for a guy like Shields.

I think in a three round fight Shields can win a decision. I don't see Kampmann having enough time in fifteen minutes to land the amount of strikes he'd need to for a TKO. I also don't think he can avoid the takedown forever while doing it in a three round fight. I'd put this at a 60-40 scenario leaning toward Shields.

The likely outcome is Shields will eventually get the takedown after eating a bunch of punches that didn't collectively scramble his eggs and ride Kampmann out or submit him from top position.

i don't think Shields is submitting Kampmann. His jits is very underrated.

I like Kampmann by TKO. This card is really starting to look good.

Unless Shields comes in with a big head undestimating Marty...he should grind Kampmann into the mat until he gets a submisson or a decision but you never know..

I kind of feel for Jake getting a rep for a LnP fighter because before his last two fights he had finished about 8 in a row. Hard to say If Kampmann will be an easy finish..for somebody with the reputation as a striker i've actually been far more impressed with him grappling in his fights with Condit, Thiago and Volkmann. I thought Condit destroyed him in the stand up and Daley made him look like somebody who has had one boxing lesson.

You're right Kings... But two things to consider. One is that Kamp's ground game is better than most give him credit for. Two is that now that Jake is getting his shot in the bog show, is he going to take risks? I think he plays it safe to get his feet wet so to speak...

2 things going against Shields

1 - life long vegetarian
2 - no nickname

I'm still picking him because he has shown himself to be pretty damn good at winning fights. But, anything can happen.

I don't know what kind of Big Show jitters Shields will have after being a headliner type fighter on CBS for two years.

Tough to imagine headlining against Hendo on Network TV to getting nervous for a non-main event Hitman fight.

It will be a grand stage though. Cain vs Brock is gonna garner a lot of buys and hype to the event. I hope they do Tito vs Chuck as the opening fight, cause I'm sick.

yea kampmann isn't the greatest struiker in the world, no shit, but it's at least respectable. Shields striking is just plain awful and he's not really showing signs of improvement. He's still pretty one dimensional and that's why i like Kampmann in this fight.

Yeah, I'd be surprised if he tried to stay on his feet. He has been able to get past some good strikers still (Lawler, Hendo, Daley, Condit) even with his marginal ability there. I'd like to see Martin tag and finally KO this guy, but it will be tough, he has a resiliency that has served him well.
