| It is difficult to promo a show on Showtime, because they only have a wee bit over 16 million subscribers and not all of them enjoy MMA. Now if it was on CBS? That would be different. | |

| Andrew is right, or atleast he was leaning towards it..
Strikeforce is plenty advertising this card on Showtime to the target audience. The thing about going outside of that and doing it on a bunch of other channels is your not just trying to sell the fight then, you are trying to sell Showtime as a package and one fight is not going to sell that...that would probably prove to be a waste of money for Showtime to spend on advertising. It's not like selling a one off PPV. You don't see HBO promoting their fight nights all over the place, but you see it on HBO where the greater portion of potential viewers will see the ad. Showtime is no different. They have not advertised any of their Showtime cards outside of Showtime or the internet. Spending more money saying "buy our whole premium channel package to see Fedor vs. Werdum" is not money well spent. Showtime does do that, but they use Dexter, Weeds, and good movies as well as MMA and boxing to sell that package.
They have also done a lot of promotion here in NorCal for the live show during the commercials for Bellator and UFC.
Strikeforce only needs to promote a Showtime card on Showtime, and they also promote the card online in hopes to sell the online feed.

| That all makes since. But why isn't there the media blitz. There is more about Brock/Shane and that's more than a week away. | |

| Because Brock and Shane are larger than life mystery mashers in the UFC. The brandpower dictates that. ESPN no doubt will give equal coverage to both. They always cover Fedor on sportscenter whenever he fights, their hosts always discuss his fights on ESPN radio and their front page has his results. When he beat Sylvia he was the lead article, Rogers too. | |
