WHo fights Aldo next...

My guess is Manny Gamburyan and probably deservedly so by KOing MIke Brown, but man does Josh Grispi look sick. THat guy is the freaking man. That's another guy who I called my shot with. I got into it with someone once about how he is a top ten featherweight, while a certain moderator said otherwise. I don't know, some might still say he is not top ten.

Manvel...Grispi is not ready...niether is Manvel but atleast it buys Grispi more time.

Yeah, one more fight for Grispi. Maybe Raphael -- he is kind of a gate-keeper.

or Diego Nunes...the guy who just beat Raphael.

I really like Grispi, but Aldo would destroy him, I'm not sure he'd ever become good enough to beat Aldo. Though I really don't think any other 145er will unless he'd fight Sandro or Frankie dropped.

I kind of want Grispi to wait a good year or so for a title shot. I wand Aldo to move down take that belt then maybe Grispi can challenge after he's taken out 2-3 more big names.

Not sure Aldo can really move down. I know ten pounds aint much but he is already one of the biggest FWs under contract to Zuffa.

Agree, I know Aldo is young too, but you can't send a 21 yr old kid in there after getting his 1st win in a year. I say Manny works fine.

Anyone else think that considering age and frame, that Grispi will move up in weight, and probably do it sooner rather then later?

I have to think he will try against Aldo if he continues to win.

I didn't realize Raphael was on this card. Man, undercard after a loss to Faber? That seems crazy.

But fighting Nunes would be a step back for Grispi, at least I think. If Manny weren't earmarked for Aldo, then that fight would make since, but with Faber and Wagnney both dropping down, there's a sudden lack of challengers in the WEC. Mark Hominick is on a tear, but Grispi already beat him. My pick would be Grispi fighting Leonard Garcia next, but everyone wants to see a rematch with Jung so who knows.

at the age of 21 we should not be worrying about guys fighting lesser competition. I don't care how good he's looked, or how long he has been training, the guy is still learning, and any fight against decent, although lesser comp, is a good thing.

I think this same argument pertains to Bones as well.

And it's not like the top guys in the sport are matched up in epic super fights every fight either. Even they see higher, and then lesser comp.

Well ALdo is only 23. I don't think age should be a factor and as one respected fighter once stated, champions in MMA or going to get younger and younger. Grispi has four really nice wins in a row, all finishes, if this were the HW division he would have fought for the title two fights ago. Give him Garcia and then give him Aldo.

Champions in MMA will remain around 30ish IMO. This division is lacking depth and is only a few years old. I believe in Pat Miletich 28-34 theory for when most fighters are in their mental physical and skill primes.

I know, that does throw a wrench in my argument(though Grispi is still 2 years younger then the very young aldo), however Im gonna say the division has met it's quota for championship quality wonder kids. Let the kid develop.

People keep forgetting how new this division is stateside. You forget that Aldo just defended against basically the division's original kingpin who is still in his top form. This division is in 1997 right now.

Great point and no question here. This is the division where we will see the greatest amount of talent. Most men, who are in great shape, weigh between 145 and 170. The best pound 4 pound fighters in the world will be at LW and FW going forward.

It will take several years to reach that point. IMO.
