Well he already has a fight with Sonnen lined up. Then Dana said Vitor is next. So if he gets by those two then yes, in about a year or so we could see him at LHW. But not anytime soon.

| I dont see any reason for Sonnen getting a title shot he hasnt really beaten any big names.
Silva is going to clown him.
Now, dont get me wrong, I have always said that Sonnen is heavily underrated but...come on now.

Now, dont get me wrong, I have always said that Sonnen is heavily underrated but...come on now. I didn't say he deserved it either, just that he is getting one. It is already set. You asked the question, I gave you the realistic answer.

| Sonnen deserves his shot, but maybe have him fight Vitor instead and let Anderson fight Shogun. | |

IMO Rashad vs Rampage winner deserve a LHW shot before Spider. Let them both take care of the guys infront of them before we force this matchup.

| I see both points. As a fight, I'd absolutely love to see Anderson vs. Shogun. But for the sport, I think it's best for Anderson to stay at MW and for Shogun to fight the contenders that make their way to the top. If Anderson eventually wants to move up, he should vacate the belt, and work his way to the top. He's certainly already got two good wins in the division, so it's not like he'd be starting from the bottom, but he really shouldn't be jumping deserving contenders. | |

Now, dont get me wrong, I have always said that Sonnen is heavily underrated but...come on now. He did destroy two top 10 MWs in back to back fights, one of whom everyone had ranked either second or third at the time. That's pretty much all it takes in the MW division

That's pretty much all it takes in the MW division I remember a time when Okami was top 4 or 5 too. To dominate him AND Nate with wrestling is quite the feat. That combined with the fact that he's a fresh face we haven't seen Anderson fight already makes him deserving. It wasn't long ago that this division exploded with fresh talent, but it also wasn't long ago Okami was top 5 either. Marquardt has more or less always been in the mix for some time.
