Make it happen! as a Machida fan, I always viewed the potential Spider vs Rua matchup as the silver lining in the event of Lyoto going down. I think it's a lock that we spider vs Rua in the not to distant.

| DW told Rashad he would get the shot if he beat Rampage. I hope DW just said that for TV. Rashad should have to go thru Machida to get a shot at Rua. | |

Beating Thiago Silva and Rampage Jackson is pretty impressive. Let Machida get a few more wins vs top guys before he gets another shot.

| Little Nog needs a shot before Anderson. Their first fight was the 2005 fight of the year wasn't it? | |

I don't know about fight of the year, but it was a classic. Lil Nog needs to do something before he gets a title shot. Beating Cane and Brilz isn't exactly screaming I'm #1 contender. He needs to beat Machida, Rampage, Rashad, Griffin, or Jones.

| He has like five straight finishes, with two over top-ten opponents in Matyushenko(he may have been Sherdog top ten that moment but has been in and out of top tens since Pride collapsed) and Cane since he last lost to Soko in Pride. Plus his history with Shogun, pedigree with his brother and camp, and past history as one of the sports elite. I wouldn't mind a title shot if he dominates the 18-1(3-1 UFC) Jason Brilz. | |

Vlad and Cane are no where near the top 10. Polls that put them there at any time were wrong. I like Lil Nog, but he needs to beat some higher quality guys before he gets a title shot, plain and simple.

| Shogun-Lil Nog is my personal favorite fight of all-time. I've been waiting a long time to see that rematch. Anderson would be good too though | |

| Cane was pretty universally ranked at the time Nog destroyed him. Nog destroyed both of them, and at worst neither was any lower than top 15 on most any rankings. I can't help it if farmer's personal rankings are different than the rest of the universes. | |

I bet if you ask people now if they ranked Cane too high then they'd all say yes. Cane isn't the kind of win that gets you a title shot even if you compound it with Vlad and Brilz.

| Cane was even top ten here at Ninja's at the time. And even after he was still ranked like 8th-9th after the loss to Minotoro. | |

| While Forrest would have been perfect, Brilz with his good resume and record is still a good enough fight to justify a title shot. Why? because we live in this world ;
Shogun ; Liddell once he was totally shot...washed up Coleman... Neither of these are close to top 10 wins.
Evans ; Liddell once he was mostly shot...Bisping. Liddell is maybe a top ten win here but most would argue after the fight Liddell was completely gone by this time.
Machida ; Ortiz on his way out...Thiago Silva, who most if asked if they ranked too high after the Machida would have said yes also. He isn't significantly better than Cane, and personally I think Cane would KO him.
Rampage ; Marvin Eastman. That was all it took.
This does not include divisions where Patrick Cote, Thales Leites, Dan Hardy, Brock Lesnar and Shane Carwin are offered title fights after what they had shown. This does not include the WEC which cooked up some complete jokes for challenges for Faber and Torres until very recently.
