| thoughts. For fucks sake vlad just beat elliot marshall in a split decision. yeah vlad is a beast and fought some bad asses back in the day but as of late come on man. imo this is a lose lose for jones. I know the lhw division is pretty tied up and the prospect vs prospect ordeal but damn. | |

| Is he? Or are they just trying to building up his resume? Keeping him warm and padding the stats until a better opponent comes available. Like the Rampage-Rashad loser? | |

What about Forrest after Nog beats him? or Cane vs. Snake winner? All good choices. What about giving him Tito as a big fuck you Tito now leave forever?

naw, he had his chance to make that fight. I don't think 60 year old Coleman vs 36 year old wife beating, hasn't won since 06 Tito has any interest to him anymore.

| I say it's a step backwards. Vlad may be close to Vera but he has no name value. There's lots of avenues in the LHW ranks for this to be the best option. | |

he did....and he wasn't interested. Coleman begged for that fight, tried all he could to get Dana to keep him for 1 more fight. Dana wanted no part of it. Add another few months to Tito and this new baggage, Dana isn't going near it.

| No. It's not a step back but it's not a step forward.
They are taking the Junior dos Santos route with him. JDS has been given step backs, side steps to no steps at all in competition since he beat Werdum.
They are waiting for the top of HW and LHW division to become stale before they send these guys up to challenge for the belts.

Vera would kill Vlad. This is a side step match up to build Jones up.

| no, Vlad is a tough as grinder wrestler, the type that would stand a chance at beating Bones IMO, it aint gonna be someone standing or trying to get a sub of their back. | |

Vera would kill Vlad. This is a side step match up to build Jones up. We're talking about Vera here. He hasn't killed anyone since Mir in 06. My money would be on Vlad easily.

I would love to take ur money then. Vera is better in every way. Jon Jones will murder Vlad in the 1st round. Vera snuck by Soszynski & Reese Andy. He couldn't beat 50 year of Couture. Vlad is legit even at his age. Vera could be lucky to eek out a decision.

| No way, "The Janitor" gets it done and is tough as nails. If anything Jones will have to be a little more flexible on the ground and he better not take this fight lightly. | |

You can't take any fight lightly in MMA. I doubt Jones will ever. I see him being one of the dominant champs in his division. I just wish they would have given him a better fight. When you destroy a guy like Vera you should get a top 5-6 guy. I know everyone is tied up, but I would have held onto Jones for the winner of the Snake/Cane fight.

| Vlad is a, cage proven, better wrestler then Vera could ever hope to be. Any match he has been able to gain some kind of control on the ground in gives fits to his opponents. Jones easiest path to victory would be to knock him out on his feet. The only two times he has been stopped was by really high level MMA strikers. Rogerio wore him down boxing then caught him with the knee in their rematch and Arlovski caught him with an uppercut. He has a tendency to get low when the strikes come and paid for it. | |
