Bones Jones next opp.

only four guys I can think of that would be a good test. I would go with thiago as of now. most of the lhw div. is tied up.

belforts a mw tho, i doubt dena would put him in a fight with jones this early.

I'm pretty sure Belfort is comming back as a MW, why is he an option? Should replace him with Luis Cane.

Thiago Silva is the only possible opponent out of the ones listed that makes any sense.

Bones vs Bader you would be putting two prospects against each other.

Vitor is staying a MW.

Couture would get slaughtered.

I think Luis Cane, Bader and Thiago Silva all make sense. Fighting Bader would being putting prospect vs prospect like Ninja said. Luis Cane was on everyones top 10 LHW list not too long ago. Is he already tied up in a fight? Surprised no one is mentioning him.

After the shame Lil nog put upon him it has been announced that Luiz Cane will be shadowboxing himself at UFC116. Tough to call that one

forgot belfort was coming in at middle weight. And yes cane is a good addition.

He was on almost everyone's top 10 LHW list not too long ago. I know lil Nog schooled him but he is still a good name to fight, considering all the LHW already tied up in fights.

And just because Cane got beat down by Lil Nog doesn't mean he's bad all of of sudden, he's still a good young fighter.

I am not wholly sold on that fact for many reasons, but the big one is Couture saps and grinds better than anyone. Does that necessarily mean he will win? No. Does that mean he can't beat Jones? No. Time and age are not on his side, but barring a glove cut a million years ago he has only two losses at 205 in the UFC. I think he has the mental capacity to give Jones trouble. He has the experience to get out of spots that Vera or Bonnar themselves couldn't get out of. Yes he is nearing the end, but until he is ended by Jones, it is merely speculation. I suspect he could find a way to grind out a win...but I wouldn't bet on it.

Stop playing, Jones would KO Couture inside two minutes with a spinning back elbow or some shit Couture won't see in time.

Jardine just lost to Bader, so he isn't a great option, but he's there, and there is always the unrenowned but widely respected Vladimir Matyushenko who is 2-0 in the UFC since his return, having only lost one round on one judges score card the entire time.

How bout Phil Davis? He is coming off a good win and is still undefeated too. I think the UFC would rather build Davis up a bit more before that, kinda like Bader. Although Bader is more popular because of TUF. I am gonna say T. Silva would be my choice because he makes more since PPV wise and Bones is ready for a co-main event now with all the people seeing him on VS.

Thiago Silva being Jones next opponent makes sense.

I can't see the UFC eliminating another contender so that puts Bader out of contention.
