| http://www.mmamania.com/2010/4/22/1436513/m-1-fedor-is-frustrated-and-upset"There are certain clauses in that agreement which haven't been lived up to. In one of these clauses was co-promotion, and given that M-1 spent a significantly larger amount of money on the first show than did Strikeforce, we would like to see something along the lines of a number of M-1 fighters fighting on the M-1 Strikeforce show, the main show, the undercard, etc. From our point of view, we're waiting for the decision of, primarily, Scott (Coker) and Strikeforce, but also that of Showtime, and basically delivering in the relationship, going forward, that which was promised to us in the first place. This (decision) doesn't depend on us at all. The ball is in their court. Fedor is in good shape. He's constantly training to keep his form up. He needs around a month and a half warning before a potential fight and he'll be able to fight. So the 26th of June is not a problem. Fedor is frustrated. He's upset that he hasn't been given the ability to fight. Again, the (delay) to make the fight happen, hasn't been on us. It's been on the other side. Because of their refusal to agree on giving us what was promised in the (contract) signed, the fight hasn't happened. We're not asking for anything other than what we were promised initially. ... What we want is simply a 50-50 (relationship). We don't want a repeat of the November 7 show, which for all intents and purposes looked like a Strikeforce show. We want to be 50-50 partners. We want this to be a proper fully fledged co-promotion." | |

| M-1 paid out more money to make that show happen? Now that would change my opinion on M-1's gripes, but for some reason I don't believe that statement. | |

| Don't know why they could complain. There's no way they lost money on that CBS show. Lets see M-1 score a national TV show on their own. Fedor's wiki says he's fighting Werdum on June 26th. Has this been confirmed? | |

| sounds like they have a legitimate gripe about the co-promotion. but I thought that was the point of the renegotiations that went down last month.
I would also like to know:
a)who is at fault for Reem not fighting fedor? I would think sf would want that fighr to happen asap, and talk from the reem camp sounds like M1 squashed that one.
b)what other fighters does M1 have on its roster?

| If it was SF fault then why would we still be waiting? M-1 is not getting what they want and they are holding up Fedor. I can't believe they shelled out more money than SF did. If that is the case then SF needs to pony up and give in. Why can't they put some M-1 fighters on Showtime cards? I am torn between this crap. Fedor has done this to himself. He could be making money in the UFC right now and fighting 3 times a year. | |

I bet you they did. They cover more than half of Fedor's purse, probably more than half of Mousasi's purse and they also opened up several international markets. Strikeforce paid Fedor about 300K probably and then payed everybody else like Rogers, Shields, Sokoudjou, Bigfoot and Werdum their regular purses which probably don't even add up to what M-1 was paying Fedor. Plus they probably covered part of the venue costs as well. I never understood the belief that M-1 expects half for nothing. People always heard they take half the profit and half the losses but for some reason don't put any money in the show? there was never any reports of that. Just the day M-1 became satan when deals with UFC fell through. Also, their gripe with Strikeforce is legitimate. If the deal was co-promotion you would hardly know it from the the Fedor/Rogers card. What i don't understand is why the wanted more M-1 fighters. The only other M-1 fighter as of now is Karl Amoussou

| If Fedor didn't have a stake you would think this was more M-1 BS Kings and it is. They paid for half the hotel rooms? They paid for the aditional staff that it takes to put on a show? They paid half the insurance? They paid half the arena rental fees? It cost millions of dollars to put a show on before the fighters recieve their wages for actually fighting and you are claiming that M-1 paid their half of everything? Fedor got over 300K that is true, but M-1 got over a million from SF, which was in the contract. Even when the UFC gets a great deal, like say 500K for a 15,000 seat arena in LV from one of the Station Casino's, you pay first, before the event is put on. So when you co-promote, that means you have to run the risk equitable with your stake in the risk taken, I seriously doubt that Vadim thinks that way at all, because "That is not how we do it in Russia". | |
