| I think he goes the way of Bonnar. A good test for up an comers, but no longer a small card headliner or main card fighter unless the opponent is worthy. | |

| He's better than Bonnar
He's now the gate-keeper IMO

| Vera is like Jardine, and out of consideration as a possible future champion. | |

I was thinking that at first but I put Jardine in a higher role (or Vera in a lower one) because 1. Jardine has fought and beaten some legit guys (Chuck & Forrest) 2. He beat Vera H2H.

| He is to slow for LHW and not strong enough for HW. Sucks for him. | |

| Vera is the best fighter never to be that good?
Sad to see him fall to such depths that even Frank Mir wouldn't consider a rematch at this point.

| Vera has fell into irrelevancy to the tenth degree. He has never beat a elite fighter in his entire career except a post motorcycle accident Mir. He could retire for all I care. I have no interest in seeing him fight anymore. | |

| I like Vera and even as late as last year expected big things to come from him. Now he is a dangerous fight for any contender, because I still feel he has top ten talent if guys like Rich Franklin and Forrest Griffin still have top ten talent, but a loss to Vera would be very damaging for any fighter's career.
I think a fight with Matyushenko or Hamill is in order.

Agree. Mir would donkey kong him at this point. He is irrelevant.

| Mir is the perfect example of how far you can fall and still recover. Vera can recover, but he won't have an easy path because 205>>>265. He's got some skill, but things just never seem to come together. He needs to go get healthy and give it one more go. Worst case scenario he keeps losing and gets cut and we don't care. | |

Mir was coming off of a wreck that almost cost him his life. Vera hasn't dealt with something like that. To me, Mir had plenty reason to have an excuse for losing to someone like Vera. Vera doesn't have an excuse like that. He just hasn't been good. I think he does have skill and maybe it clicks in the future but he needs to go somewhere else and get some easy wins. I think the biggest problem for him is confidence. He talks shit but when he gets in the cage he's tentative. He needs to attack, throw combos, keep distance and chop opponents down with leg kicks. He doesn't do any of this except against guys like Mike Patt.

Let him go fight in Dream or Strike Force and just face a lower level of fighter.

Can you imagine what Mousasi would do to him right now??? It would be a beatdown. If SF would match him up with lesser opponents that would be ok but they would probably throw him in against the best they have.

| I don't know, I think Vera is being downplayed a little too much. Jon Jones is clearly a freak with his ability to take him down at will [remember Randy couldn't do it]. I really think Vera is the most talented guy not winning fights. If Vera fought Jardine or Randy again, I would put my money on him. | |
