JDS needs a contender

I've been saying it and people are starting to be become believers. JDS is very good. He needs a big fight then a title shot ASAP.

We were all talking how fast Cain looked, well JDS looks just as fast, but IMO he picks his spots 10x better.

Plus we at the very least saw he has the ability to sprawl/scramble.

Maybe now I can get off the Gabe bandwagon lol. JDS looked awesome.

Give him Velasquez. A revenge fight like in Pride. The winner fights for the title.

Yeah, it's been tough because there is an odd number of title contenders in UFC and with Brock sickness, Carwin's inactivity because waiting for Brock/injuries and the coach factor with Big Nog...JDS has been the odd man out fighting guys within the same 10-20 rankings territory like Struve, Mirko, Yvel and Gabe. Now with Cain not booked, and Mir-Carwin supposed to be for the #1 contendership...it's time for him to face the best.

Cain is the obvious choice.

But if they want to protect their young contendors how bout Kongo?

I agree. With Brock's return most likely being July it gives the Carwin vs Mir winner enough time to recuperate.

the only non top 10 fighter i want to see JDS fight before a top 10 is Kimbo Slice for the lulz.

I can see hte UFC booking Kongo and JDS in a fight since they both fought tonight. He deserves better imo.

I agree he needs a step up in competition big time. He's so confident in his hands right now. Cain would be a great opponent for him and we would probably see if he has any ground skills.

The isolation of the divisions top fighters from each other has already began to come to an end with Nog/Cain and Carwin/Mir upcoming for the shot at Brock. Cain/JDS for the subsequent title shot seems like the only logical next step. These fighters are UFC's HW cream and the undefeated's will eventually have to square up. Wouldn't surprise me though if JDS fights either another mid ranked HW or loser of Mir/Carwin just for the chance of preserving and prolonging his record and letting Cain sit as a #1 contender for 9 or 10 months.

The loser of Mir/Carwin wouldn't be bad, though. As great as he's looked we still haven't seen him against a top 10 opponent. Mir or Carwin would also be a huge step up in competition for JDS. They are also huge HWs which he will need to be able to contend with if he's going to have a chance for the belt.

IMO it has to be Cain, unless you give Cain next shot and have JDS fight the Mir/Carwin loser. All i know is the guy is badass.

While Kongo is an acceptable option and would likely be an entertaining fight, Cain is the fight we really need to see.

What I think would work best overall is is giving Cain the title shot in June/July, the winner of Carwin/Mir the shot in Oct/Nov and on the same card have the Carwin/Mir loser fight JDS. Then JDS gets his shot in March. And finally finally we get Fedor vs JDS in July 2011 for the UFC title!!!!

JDS is hardly guaranteed to win the fight with the loser of Mir/Carwin. Farmer has a mancrush on JDS.
